XXL parfum

It’s a super enveloping and refined scent, but also really, really bold. The sweetness of vanilla blends with the fresh (at first) bergamot and a super persistent, bold floral heart. When it dries down, you get warm amber and woody vibes that add a lot of depth and make it way more sensual. Honestly, it’s like a grenade—very strong, very present. And, don’t think I’m crazy, but it totally reminded me of Rouge Karkade . It DOES leave a mark on skin, impossible not to notice. Perfect for anyone who loves XXL big florals, rich vanilla, and woody notes.

Very Beautiful Vanilla

In my opinion, the vanilla in this fragrance is perfectly balanced. The bergamot is rather subdued in this scent. I have never smelled a fragrance like this before; it's simply hard to describe. The floral notes are somewhat more dominant, and therefore I find that the fragrance comes across as a bit feminine.

Delicate Peach Scent Meets Intense Vanilla

Every fragrance from Maison Noir features a numerical combination as a complement to its name, which hides a numbering system. This reveals the orientation of the scent. Behind 517 lies a fruity fragrance with floral and warm notes.

After a short but crisp sour-fresh opening from the bergamot, the cistus initially gives the fragrance a somewhat herb-spicy character, which can be quite challenging for some noses. However, thanks to the wonderful delicate-fruity peach scent of the plumeria, the fragrance then develops into a creamy-soft and floral experience. This impression is enhanced by sweet jasmine. Already in the heart, a very beautiful vanilla embraces the fragrance, taking the helm and evolving with amber into a very intense, cozy-warm vanilla scent with a slight woody undertone.

Looking for high-quality vanilla? Here it is!

The perfume opens with a bergamot that really has nothing to do with what happens in the following hours. After about 10 minutes, this bergamot fades away, which personally has no place here, and it becomes floral-sweet. Some also detect a fruity note here. The sweetness increases more and more over time, but it is anything but piercingly sweet; I would describe it as creamy-sensual.
Somnia 517 is not a monster in terms of sillage and longevity, but you will definitely be noticed by those around you, even with close contact after 7/8 hours.
In my opinion, it is a unisex fragrance that can be worn by both genders year-round.

I think there could definitely be better alternatives for the price, but I can only recommend the perfume; for me, it’s an overall 8/10.
