Scrumptious vanilla, coconut shavings, a hint of woodiness and white musk

I held off on trying it for a long time because I saw other people's review about it which made me pause. Thankfully, there's absolutely no synthetic smell to my nose unless you count the sharp beginning. Instead, I'm met with a scrumptious bourbon vanilla mixed in equal parts with a creamy coconut. It's decadent, gourmand, but not heavy! Made me think of either a coconut and vanilla (pastry?) dessert or a luxurious coconut and vanilla butter cream. There's a hint of woodiness coming from the palo santo at the edge of the scent that stops it from becoming too sweet or cloying. It could probably be worn during spring or summer (no heatwave temperatures) for that reason.

Like others have said, I do admit it's pretty linear. There's less complexity and depth than other vanilla-centric fragrances out there, but the performance of this fragrance is absolutely amazing and makes up for the rest of it. If you're in search for a vanilla and coconut scent, this one is it!

Vanilla - coconut beast

Even if it is a bit on the "pricey side", this fragrance is a beast. So if it's up to me - definitely worth the price.

Not a typical "woman's vanilla", not by a long shot. It's very masculine, dry and salty. In the opening to my nose a bit peppery, palo santo/inscence note comes through immediately. There's not much fuzziness or sweetness in here, just dry, salty coconut shavings and a high quality, masculine vanilla.

In that sense, really different, not so warm, simplistic and predictable. Longevity easily up to 12+ hours, sillage also great.

High quality very interesting scent that left me confused

I am a huge fan of the Matiere Premiere range, went in to test this one out at my favourite niche fragrance boutique as soon as this arrived.

Upon first spray I immediately recognized the same note that stood out to me in Bois D'Ebene - it is the Palo Santo. To some people it smells screechy and maybe synthetic, to me, I don't mind, I loved Bois D'Ebene.

The thing is I felt that the combination of this specific kind of palo Santo note and vanilla/coconut really confused me...it is not a scent you could put in one category or another.

My favourite part about it is the dry down. By dry down I mean, how my wrist smelt the second day...it is THAT long lasting. Monster projection as well - it was the first thing my friends noticed that day because I went to dinner with them after my visit to the store...

I can't decide for now whether it's a love or not, I am going to go through my sample and see. The quality is there for sure.

Vanilla Powder

Absolutely not. I had this on one wrist and Deep Dark Vanilla from DS & Durga on the other. While I preferred this one, both were a pass.

Like many others have shared, I do want to stress the synthetic staying power in the base (which, after tinkering with Escentric Molecules 02, I realized was ambroxan.) It's lingered for honestly 2 weeks+ on the shirt I wore when I tested it. It remains noticeable and wafts around whenever I wear it. If you're looking for longevity, it's definitely a win... but I'm not a fan.

The more I smelled it, the more I wished it were gone. I want the scent I'm wearing to be present when I'm wearing it and to fade away gradually by the end of the day. It almost feels obnoxious like an party guest who's overstayed their welcome. Like bro, it's time for you to go!

Vanilla Powder Matiere Premiere Spray

I love this scent.
Is a very powdery Vanilla scent with a long longevity.
Matiere Premiere does take a note and build their scent fully about it.
I love the concept behind this fragrance.
But I have a problem with it and I don't know if this is normal.
When I spray this, it comes very less perfume out.
It seems like its blocked or something.
That happened at the first time when I used it.
I think somethings wrong.
Did anybody got the same experience?
Please help.
