Hype Train Level 10

Let me try to describe my thoughts:

Due to the hype, fragrance DNA, durability and price-performance ratio of Orange Flamingo, one naturally expects the next big step or to come to Apple language: "One more thing".

Of course, I also took my cue from this and expected this step.

Arrived at the Düsseldorf boutique, tested the fragrance, led by the euphoria and the hype, bought the fragrance. The fragrance Purple Flamingo is currently only "boutique-exclusive". Only time will tell when it will be available online.

Back to the fragrance: After walking around Düsseldorf all day and arriving at the hotel in the evening, I could still feel the fragrance on my skin. Durability and sillage worthy of a flamingo.

Unlike Orange Flamingo, the iris note is very dominant in Purple. A very, very beautiful "clean fragrance". There is only a slight hint of orange to be smelled here, but not as dominant as in its predecessor.

Now we come to my key point "predecessor". Many (including myself) now assume that it is a "successor" to Orange Flamingo, which it can/should be in its typical way (DNA). Of course, people are now unfortunately also biased by Orange Flamingo. If I may just briefly remind you of my first paragraph of the review.

If you look at this fragrance on its own, you have to honestly admit that this is yet another masterpiece of craftsmanship from Carbonnel. Of course, iris is one of the most expensive fragrance components in the world. If you venture deeper into the fragrance cosmos, everyone can understand how this price of almost 300€ comes about. I, on the other hand, wonder why it doesn't cost over €300? If you compare it with other well-known fragrances that play with iris in such an explosive way, the price of under €300 is very reasonable. And don't forget, here again it's 100ml.

I also imagine the following scenario here: What if Purple had come out before Orange ?

Let's come to my final conclusion:
The fragrance is typical Marc Gebauer (Carbonnel), once again a very good release.
Long-lasting, beastmode, an all-day pleasant fragrance for every situation.
This DNA will not offend anywhere. A nice "fresh laundry" fragrance.
Should you get it for the price if you already have Orange Flamingo ? A very clear "no" from me.
You're not missing anything spectacular here.
As a fragrance enthusiast, should you buy this fragrance ? A very clear "yes".
Flamingo as DNA with a beautiful iris.
