Great Powdery Woods
Once again, this blind swap has turned out perfectly according to my scent preferences. Of course, I interpreted the fragrance pyramid in my mind, imagining how it would smell. I almost hit the mark - where "almost" stands for "even better."
A fresh, herbal burst of lavender greets me, carrying a hint of nutmeg - a touch of saffron wonderfully rounds off the first phase.
Then it rises up from the depths, smoky and woody - OUD! Hardly "barn-like" - very powdery, underpinned with pepper and - I sniff and marvel - something fresh, cool, reminiscent of mint. Could it be a powerfully dosed geranium!?!
It fits perfectly as a bright counterpart to the darker agarwood - and to the earthy base note of patchouli, which quietly and secretly joins in, becoming stronger over time. There could also be a bit of myrrh in there, leaving a mysterious resinous-herb-sweet aura. A perfume that is "niche" - and very affordable!!!
