Angel in Summer Solstice

Recently, I was able to get my hands on all the new Muglers (Alien Extraintense, Angel Stellar, and this one) and I was quite excited to test this Fantasm, given the comparison to and with owning Angel Iced Star. And to be quite honest with you, I wasn’t expecting to like Fantasm more than AIS, but here we are!

Angel Fantasm is essentially Angel Iced Star boosted by a big, boozy vanilla note and a tropical tiare flower. The tiare amps up the coconut, and serves tropical floral goddess in this composition. The patchouli is also much more turned up in this, which is what I felt was missing from Angel Iced Star. To be deemed a *true* Angel flanker, one must hone in on that characteristic, chocolate-y patchouli, and Angel Fantasm definitely gives us that patchouli more than any of the other summer Angel flankers. If you are someone that hates the OG Angel but likes fruity tutti scents, Iced Star is your girl. But if you are a fan of the OG and Iced Star fell a bit short for you, check out Ms. Fantasm.

Fantasm is louder in sillage and leaves the most divine scent trail. Can’t speak to longevity as of yet, but given the stronger patchouli, I have a feeling it won’t lack in staying power. This is the true summer Angel, and one of the better flanker releases from Mugler as of recent! Can’t wait to get my hands on a full bottle. She’s the summer Angel flanker I’ve been craving all this time.

I loved Iced Star and was heartbroken when it was discontinued. This came on my radar, and might just blind buy since they seem so similar. Would you say Fantasm is in the same family as Leisure in Paradise et al!? Does it replace Iced Star? Might just go ahead and hit checkout

Iced Star was soooo good. Idk why they let it go like that. I would say they are in the same family with the coconut-pineapple-vanilla combo, but Fantasm is much better performing and the patchouli is definitely present to give it that classic Mugler touch. If you don’t like patchouli, you won’t like it. And it definitely doesn’t replace Iced Star. IS was quite fruity, and this one is too, but more gourmand and patchouli.
