With the founding of the niche label "Mystikum" in 2024, an important chapter in German perfume history is being reopened. The brand builds on a perfume that is over a century old: "Mystikum" was first launched in 1910 by the traditional Berlin house Scherk, which was one of the most influential perfume houses in the German-speaking world at the time. The fragrance quickly became the house's international flagship and was in demand not only in Berlin, but also in Paris, New York and other major cities. In the "Golden Twenties", "Mystikum" was regarded as a style-defining pioneer of modern fragrance art and was sometimes referred to as the "German Chanel No. 5".
Today, the newly founded label continues this history - with the aim of translating the art deco charm and design heritage of the original creations into the present day. The flacon design, created by Christian von der Heide, picks up on typical Art Deco shapes and colors and reinterprets them. Classic elements meet clear lines and fine details - an ode to the aesthetics of the 1920s.
Mystikum works with internationally renowned perfumers such as Ralf Schwieger, Mark Buxton and Alexandre Illan to create its fragrance compositions. The result is modern compositions that combine traditional craftsmanship with contemporary perfumery - full of character and at the same time made for everyday use.
