Dusty newspaper inside an abandoned forest hut
After trying Noctifera's discovery kit, Ink of Shadows turned out to be my favorite.
Let me paint you a scene:
You're on a walk through the forest on a warm summer day. There's that abandoned wooden hut everyone talks about, but you've never been there before, so you decide to check it out. As you get closer, you get this feeling of nostalgia - a place that is long past its prime, yet it holds so many memories. Have you actually been here before?
You step inside: You see broken windows on a wooden kitchen table, there's dried leaves everywhere, but the hut protects you from the heat outside. A somewhat comforting feeling, oddly enough.
There's piles of newspaper, everywhere. Old articles from the early 90s and 2000s. Noone's been here for a long time.
The wind outside blows stronger now - and it blows through the broken windows. The cloud turn grey and gusts of wind throw the newspaper in the air, like a tiny hurricane of old memories. One of the newspaper hits you in the face and gets stuck, like in those cartoons. You can barely make out what's written on it, but you're more distracted by that smell of ink and the dusty texture of the old newspaper on your face. You take it off your face, but that smell still lingers in your nose. "Looks like it's time to leave", you say to yourself, as you wipe off the dust off your face and continue on your walk. That old hut - it doesn't seem so spooky anymore now.

In my experience Noctifera perfumes smell fairly different on skin than on paper. I remember this fragrance smelling rather leathery and smoky on paper, with an opening that somewhat reminded me of Sauvage Eau de Toilette (in a good way!). Maybe it's the combination of pepper and bergamot notes?
Though I really like this "antique dusty and inky scent" on paper, this perfume is fairly different on my skin: There I get a prominent citrusy bergamot, but it's not aggressive or annyoing, rather it's more comforting. And underneath is this dusty vetiver blanket that really reminds me of freshly printed newspaper. Over time, you get some powdery notes on your skin that really tie this perfume together.
It's a scent that changes over time and goes from "metallic, spicy and sharp" to "mellow, powdery and gentle". I highly recommend this scent and I hope this fragrance gets the attention it deserves
