At that time, there was no thought of me at all. And my grandparents hadn't even been born yet or were still in diapers as babies or toddlers... And the scent was probably also a special one. People loved powdery, floral opulence and it couldn't be sweet and opulent enough to score olfactory points! The latest trend from Paris, Milan or London was a must, especially in "fine society".
This balsamic powdered "over-rose" of this "Rouge Privé" ... "Private red" could well have found many fans at the time. This "melting", which could also be described as "Schmäh" in "Viennese". The enigmatic, almost "erotic" after-smells could have elicited a small, pointed "Oh- la la" from many a mouth. The sweet woody notes are so subtly powdery that many would probably have looked around for the wearer on the street.
