Gentleman's Wink
My naturally curly hair takes on a life of its own in damp weather, twisting in all directions.

Even my bangs are unruly and stand out defiantly from my forehead.
My mom calls these cheeky strands "Gentleman's Wink".

And just like that, Amor Amor - along with its flankers - acts attractively on men.
All my guys find the "Amor family" appealing.

That's why I grabbed du soir on my way out without testing it, since my husband is in a grumpy mood today.
Normally, my perfume purchases don't make him smile, but shortly after spraying, he warmed up and sought my closeness.
I smell so deliciously like "Werther's Echten" - the caramel candies he loves to consume!

Yes - after the subtle fruity veil, a soft vanilla-caramel note clearly emerges, which cuddles up nicely but is still pleasantly noticeable to others.
The non-sticky sweetness of the fragrance is gently underscored by a rose and gains a bit more depth from light patchouli.

For a grand evening appearance, du soir is probably not suitable - but definitely for a cozy evening for two.
Of course, one can also start with it in the "après midi".

On the Hunt for Red October
After the negative reviews in the short statements, I have to defend this fragrance.

I am one of the first to exclaim during many perfume tests: “Oh no, how artificial!” And this bottle in deep red promised me just such a scent disaster.

To my own astonishment, however, that was not the case. First promised me a “truly authentic love apple scent,” and they did not promise too much! I was immediately transported to the Hamburg Dom and found myself sniffing in front of one of the countless stalls selling all those typical fair sweets. I even thought I detected a hint of roasted almonds alongside the love apple…

Yes, it is a gourmand scent, yes, it smells sweet, and yes, you have to like that. For me, it is not a perfume for every day, because I don’t want to smell like a delicious candy stall every day. But as a scent experience for dreary autumn and winter days, this perfume is a true revelation.

The floral note in between is not really my thing, but as First already mentioned in their report, the sweet winter scent returns in the base note and enchants once again.

And then it’s already over. The scent lasted about 4 - 5 hours on me, but it still clung wonderfully subtly to my sweater the next morning. For a bargain price of just under 20 euros, this is completely sufficient.

I never thought that this particular perfume would captivate me so much. I usually love natural scents, men’s fragrances, the more rugged and herbal ones. I was always waiting for something to come that I wouldn’t like (musk, vanilla, yuck), but the scent does not slide into the 0815 base found in many other perfumes.

Interestingly, vanilla is listed as a base, but it seems to be a completely different fragrance ingredient than the one that has made so many perfumes unappealing to me. I couldn’t perceive much of the fragrance pyramid, as I absolutely did not notice any patchouli, which I do love.

In short, I absolutely wanted this perfume.

Not least because of the bottle, which is a small design masterpiece. Maybe a bit kitschy, but that doesn’t diminish my enthusiasm. Deep red, the small 30ml bottle half full, creating a beautiful gradient from a lighter to a darker red, with the wire wrapping around the neck of the bottle and the ring at the spray head, it almost has a touch of Victorian steampunk or a mysterious glass vial from a medieval alchemist. I could go into a collecting frenzy over these bottles from Cacharel.

And then the misery began…

First discovered that it wasn’t “Amor Amor” that we had tested, but "Amor Amor Mon Parfum Du Soir," which was nowhere printed on the beautiful bottle. And this perfume has practically disappeared from the stores. We are now on the hunt for Red October, so hopefully, I can still get my birthday gift this month!

Yes, I think it has something. Sweet but not just that, not cloyingly heavy but cozy with a light floral note! I like it!

This blend of cotton candy and love apple is so authentically captured that I'm fascinated. And I’m not even that into sweet!

Delicious sweet currant tangerine jam. Sugary scent but not sticky. I find it lasts very well. Reminds me of Jelly Belly red.
