Not Bad
In conclusion to the sample set from the brand Reinvented, I am also writing a review of this extrait of the fragrance Epiphany. Later, I will also cover the new Lucid Dream, but I didn't want to withhold this Epiphany, which doesn't really get a good reception here. Even the conventional Epiphany Eau de Parfum has received quite a bit of criticism, and the rating is mediocre. This extrait has replaced the EdP, as this brand now exclusively sells extraits. I tested Epiphany extensively, and the fragrance accompanied me throughout my daily life. Even though this is not 100% my type of scent, it is a fragrance that did resonate with me due to its wonderful spiciness, and I don't agree with all the negative reviews here. Nevertheless, it is absolutely not a crowd-pleaser and is relatively niche. The strong spiciness can be a bit abrasive; the fragrance stands out with many powerful notes and a strong sillage that retains its potency even after many hours. Those looking for typical crowd-pleasers like Sacred Bond would be mistaken.
The extrait costs, like all fragrances from the brand, €180 for 75ml, with discounts available as always in many shops. It is now a brand represented in several stores. The overall package with the uniform packaging and the uniform bottles is convincing.
The fragrance can be a bit challenging. As a layperson, it is not easy to grasp the scent when reading the descriptions. Primarily, you get a strong spiciness, rose, metallic notes, and notes that lean slightly towards aldehydes. There are also resinous notes and a hint of smokiness that appear throughout the fragrance's evolution. At the start, you get a citrus freshness that is immediately taken over by a strong spiciness. More specifically, a non-oriental saffron note, cardamom, and a pleasantly peppery spiciness. The spiciness lasts extremely long and remains until the base. The iris root, in combination with patchouli, provides slightly earthy notes. Lemon, lime, and bergamot contribute to a wonderful citrus freshness in the background. A great harmonious combination, though it may be a bit of an acquired taste for many. Rose also plays a significant role in this fragrance. As it develops, the creation becomes slightly metallic and also leans a bit towards soapy. The base features musk and a pleasant combination of frankincense and benzoin, which is slightly resinous and smoky, but in a pleasant way. Woody notes come through birch and cedarwood. The base slightly reminds me of Ugolini's 17 Rosso. It's quite an interesting combination with a DNA that has character and doesn't just meander. A scent with character for those seeking something off the mainstream path. The fragrance is suitable for everyday wear and impresses with its serious craftsmanship.
The performance is indeed very intense; even towards the end, the sillage has considerable power with this spiciness. The fragrance easily lasts 10 hours, more like 12+ hours, which essentially carries you through the entire day until bedtime.
Overall, it's a fragrance that one should never buy blind and is very specific. I really like it, even if it can be a bit overwhelming at times. An interesting scent profile that you don't encounter every day.
