Difficult to grasp and describe this scent
I find this review so hard today, as if it were the very first one, because for me this scent was really difficult to grasp.
I came across this gem through Perfume History (thank you very much to the team!).
And it definitely deserves its first review!
I always make my first two sprays blind (when I have the opportunity), meaning without knowing which scent I am testing, I write down what comes to mind and then I look at the fragrance components. Often the first impression matches, sometimes it does not, as in this case.
Then I make an effort to sniff out the specified components.
And I can tell you already:
Complete failure
My first impression (I thought quite simply):
Great creamy apricot, initially fruity and delicate, then gradually becoming creamier, softer musk, and that’s how it stays… for at least 8 hours on me. A lovely pleasant scent wafts around you again and again. I like it!
After checking the components, I was horrified. Pineapple? Orange? Mandarin?
No way… never… it can’t be.
Jasmine? Rose (which I don’t like)? Violet?
I smell none of that. Amber, musk, and sandalwood… okay… maybe that’s where the creaminess comes from. Oud is completely unfathomable to me.
I would have never been interested in this scent based on the components.
I would have expected:
at first zesty, fruity, and a bit bergamot-like, then floral and rosy and soft (not my thing at all) and in the end a musk intensified with oud.
I checked the sample 5 times and had to assure myself that it was really the right scent.
If there is no filling error here, then I have learned something.
Often you expect GREAT things and nothing comes, and sometimes you expect NOTHING and it turns out so beautifully.
I will be curious about the next reviews and how this scent will be perceived. 🥰
