Surprising Gift
Deeply surprised, I found a sample of Cocoyster Moorea Guava as an anonymous gift in my mailbox.
First of all, a thousand thanks - you made my day, whoever you are, I was s u p e r happy. - The top note of this strong summer scent starts darker than the other two Cocoysters I know, but also fruitier (- - - of course, the banana in Bananita doesn't smell fruity, and coconut and oyster alone, as in the original Cocoyster, don't either). Behind it builds a sparkling acidity that fluctuates between boozy fizz and some kind of red iced tea, which I personally quite like. The ginger could have been sharper in my opinion...
After a while, the citrusy-tropical sourness disappears, and sweetness now dominates. Oyster and salt are not detectable, and the coconut also fades away quite quickly. From now on, it becomes a young people's summer scent; I almost get Escada vibes with gummy bear notes. - Conclusion: A no-brainer for the pool, beach, and hot days; please don't overdo it, otherwise the sweetness will surely hit too hard.
Of the three Cocoysters I now know, this one is the most pleasing, yet also the most youthful, and for me personally, the least essential. Nevertheless, thank you very much for the surprising testing opportunity, what a wonderful gesture and a successful surprise! I will definitely use the sample instead of passing it on or gifting it, mine mine mine - a pleasing summer scent for joyful hours that will surely delight my primary surroundings!
