Where is the vanilla ???

Thanks to an interesting travel letter, I was able to test 3 fragrances from this previously unknown brand.

I expected Vanilla Monsoon to have a strong, powerful vanilla note that would last from start to finish.

After the first spray on the test strip (I must honestly say that I didn't dare to spray the fragrance directly on my skin because of the previous reviews ;)) I get fruity notes that should come from orange and peach. Quite pleasant at first, but after a few minutes jasmine and other fruits are probably added, which in my opinion doesn't do the fragrance any good.

And now I waited for the vanilla shock... unfortunately in vain. The base hardly changes even after about 30 minutes... it smells more like medicinal, slightly fruity chewing gum, no vanilla and I can't detect patchouli either... too bad, but I don't want to smell like that.

Cocoa Monsoon

I have had very little contact with the Salum brand to date.
Only Cocoyster is still in my sample cupboard, waiting to be tested.
At first glance, some fragrances seem quite interesting to me, looking at the fragrance pyramid given, including Vanilla Monsoon, which reached me thanks to a great sharing.

I'll say it up front, this extrait de parfum did not convince me.
The name is misleading and the fragrance pyramid is only partially accurate, with a few candidates claiming to be extremely dominant.

The fragrance starts with a heavy dose of cocoa, which initially flattens everything else and does not allow any other nuances next to it.
With a little time, concentration and full focus on your own olfactory nose, you then increasingly catch a few other notes.
First and foremost orange and a little cardamom somewhere, but rather discreetly under the thumb of cocoa.

If you let the fragrance work a little further, after an hour or so, the heart note is dominated by jasmine, followed by a cloud of fruit that cannot really be defined and is also not very attractive.

Jasmine is already noticeably more potent, but whether the combination with cocoa is to everyone's taste is up to them. I don't like it and the fragrance takes on a much more feminine touch! On female skin, it could possibly appeal to me in parts, but for me personally it's a flop.

There is absolutely no sign of a monsoon with vanilla in its name.
I can't detect a hint of vanilla in the scent and that is a bitter disappointment, especially with this name, which is certainly associated with expectations! If the fragrance were called "Cocoa Monsoon", it would be much more fitting and I would have refrained from trying it in any case.

Projection, silage and persistence are solid.
