Luxury from the northernmost city of Italy
How can you tell you're getting old? When you talk about old series that no one remembers anymore! I used to enjoy the Bavarian crime series. Polizeiinspektion 1 with Sedlmayer, SOKO 5113, and of course Monaco Franze. He’s sitting all alone at Münchner Freiheit today and unfortunately not in his cool black leather jacket, but in a coat. But he still looks good, as always.
Or the grumpy Walter Sedlmayr in Polizeiinspektion 1. The cool cops, and my favorites were SOKO 5113, where they spoke High German, so I could understand it too. Batic and Leitmayr can pack it up. Not that they are bad, but I preferred the old cops.
They were all cool back then and still are. In the past, everyone did commercials, Bavarian beer, coffee, salty Tuc biscuits. But perfume, no, Sedlmayr wouldn’t have sold that to the public. Franz, yes, he could have done it, with his leather jacket, a little bird in his arm, picking her up right in front of the opera and even giving her a rose, yes, that's how I can imagine it.
Acqua di Baviera - Bavarian Dolce Vita. In their collection, Italian ambiance merges with Bavarian tradition to create a unique fragrance world. The bottle of Luxury 16 is already elegant, a cube of glass wrapped in black leather, with a golden plaque on it. The sprayer is quite good too, a fine mist comes out of the sprayer. The packaging is impressive - black with golden lettering.
The description of woody-leathery fits it well. ADB starts off beautifully fruity with mandarin. But even there, good incense is already present. I don’t really perceive the red fruits. But the rose is lovely, making the scent softer and rounder. The combination of guaiac wood, incense, and vanilla gives it an almost oudy feel. Towards the base, it then becomes leathery, not fine calf leather and not rough leather - it's right in the middle. An exciting Bavarian fragrance story that is really pleasing. It somewhat resembles Brompton Immortals, which also has that rosy-smoky quality. And also because towards the end, the leather becomes less pronounced for me.
These days, I’m planning to visit the flagship store ;)
