Honeybush Scent Trunk 2021

This is such wonderful fragrance and it swings back and forth from moody and stem to bright and happy. On my skin, it starts as a bright citrus dusted with warm cardamom and hints of deeply steeped black tea. As it days down a soft, worn leather note becomes prominent as the tea starts to infuse the leather. Then some more spice comes out, warm pepper and fresh, cool bay leaf. Then sweetness from the Honeybush arrives and pulls this back into a more playful scent from the aforementioned moodiness. I love the juxtaposition and the fragrance, very well done!

Camphor comes through really prominently (it’s a resin with a cooling scent that is used in vapor rub). The honey heart and dry down that comes next feels like smooth wood. A sharp and wispy honey. There’s no warmth or maple to it. Lots of other herbal and spiky accords surround it so it makes for the first “crisp” honey scent I’ve smelled!
