After the party
We got home at three in the morning. What a roaring party. It's the height of summer. I was pretty sweaty from dancing and a bit drunk. We had applied plenty of repellent to protect us from the mosquitoes at the lake. A small amount of it is still noticeable on our skin. There's also a hint of my perfume from yesterday. Extase Musk from Muelhens. I remove my make-up. I look at my 20-year-old face in the mirror as I carefully remove the powder make-up. Then I slip into a nightgown and snuggle under the comforter. A little sleep is now urgently needed. But celebrations should be celebrated as they fall. After all, we only live once.
I can only guess whether Pillow Talk has echoes of Shalimar. I only know the great classic in passing. I wore Extase Musk myself as a young woman and I can also recognize facets of it in this fragrance. This sensual sweetness, this hint of smudginess, that sounds very familiar to me. Musk is not listed here, but I'm almost certain that this soft, grubby sweetness comes from the flowers and the musk, and I really like that. Human skin, after a night of fun, a bit of sweat and the remnants of Extase Musk. Peru balsam and patchouli add something resinous and dark, and here I actually have a slight association with anti-buzz and similar repellents. But it's not bad at all. As I struggle with allergies myself, I sometimes wear mixtures like this on my skin in summer. Who knows? Maybe this scent will also protect you from those nasty pests?
An exciting composition that immediately appeals to me. It would be a touch too grungy for me overall, I think I can also detect some civet, as long as the animalic quality doesn't come exclusively from the flowers, but it's really good. And certainly not everyday. A hint of vintage perfume here and there. And no Woody Amber or anything else that could annoy me. So off to the pillows! Yay!
A big thank you for the testing opportunity goes to the lovely Gandix.
