Vodka on the stones

I love this scent. Has a cold pepper smell to it. HOWEVER, I did have someone at work ask me if I'd been drinking because I smelled like I'd just drunken a lot of vodka. I could see where they got that impression. And I cannot not smell vodka when I smell it now. But I still love it. I just don't wear it to work.

Effortlessly cool girl's vanity

Suganami is very off-duty model to me. It's the signature scent of that effortlessly cool girl you pass on the street. Leather jacket, crisp white tee, vintage denim, black sunglasses. You can't smell her unless you lean in close. And there it is: the vulnerability. A vision of her sitting in front of her vanity with a "your skin but better" makeup routine. Soft powder, the gentle woodiness of her dull eyeliner pencil

This reads very iris-y to me. Makes me feel put together and hauntingly gorgeous.

And for those who care -- I get compliments on this!

Soft spicy powder scent

Suganami is a gorgeous soft powdery scent that feels clean without feeling sterile or soapy. The musk, iris, myrrh, and angelica are the notes that stand out the most to me. The iris and musk create a cosmetic powder scent that’s warmed up by the spices and resins and sweetened just a hint by the angelica and rose. This could be worn anytime and definitely falls into the skin scent category for me - where you just smell clean and good without smelling like perfume. My only complaint is that I wish it were stronger and longer lasting.

Sugary powder bomb

Starts off as a very sweet, floral, almost nectar-y powder bomb. I really like other powdery scents, especially those with orris root, but this feels much more dependent on the iris flower than the root for its powder notes.

Some of the sweetness and floral notes dissipate after an hour or so, but they’re still there under the surface. I definitely still detect the rose, which is not a good note on my skin, so this is a pass for me.
