Strange transition
I will first say that Oceanic Symphony is definitely not a linear fragrance. It evolves from the opening to the dry down, starting out with a blast of citrus. This was short lived on its own, as suddenly another scent appeared that I can only describe as nutty, as in some sort of nut spread (not peanut butter). As I was wondering where the ocean was, another sudden strong appearance popped up that I can only describe as Grandma Juice. I'm assuming that was caused by a heavy dose of the musk, perhaps combined with the salt. Struck me as quite feminine, in a grandma sorta way. This assault only lasted a short while as the marine accord appeared, assuming due to the ambergris, which was mixed with that nutty scent. Occasionally, I also got very slight whiffs of chocolate. On top of that, it is also a somewhat sweet scent and synthetic. I found it to be a very unattractive fragrance. Not a scrubber, but not good.

Performance was good. Longevity to the next morning with strong projection for the first few hours. Outside of the middle phase, Oceanic Symphony strikes me as a unisex fragrance. But definitely not for me.

"My Job... It's Just Beach" - Ken
As someone born and raised in Florida, I've always had a familiarity with the beach. When I began to get into fragrances, I wanted to find a scent that captured the feeling of an outing with family or friends to those oh so familiar sands. I smelled all sorts of brands, from the designers like Louis Vuitton and Tom Ford, to the niches such as Mancera or Montale. I came across many great summer scents, but it wasn't until I ordered a sample of Oceanic Symphony that I was satisfied.

Oceanic Symphony opens with a citrus so juicy you can almost taste it. The musk and sea salt that follow are extraordinary. I didn't smell the salt at first, but whether it was due to my nose being much less trained at the time or simply maceration is hard to say. What I can say for certain is once you smell the salt, it becomes utterly addictive. It smells as if a fragrance oil was extracted from the air of the beach itself. Eventually the ambergris follows as well, rounding out the scent quite nicely.

This is one of those fragrances that is very straightforward about what it's trying to do, but there are some notes that should be taken. This is not a safe blind buy. Some noses love it more than others. You won't offend anyone with it, (unless you're dumb enough to use more than 3-5 sprays), but you shouldn't wager 150 bucks on something that could just be "meh" to your nose. Get a sample first. It also lacks the versatility of some other scents. You'll be hard pressed to find a better beach scent, but outside of hot/bright sunny days and/or casual settings, you're better off looking elsewhere if you REALLY want to go above and beyond.

Still, this is an absolute compliment getter, and it's wearable enough in the summer that I currently use it as my summer signature.

Quite simply the best beach fragrance I've ever smelled. Projection is nutty. Definite compliment getter.
