Fossilized Pit
I think I am anosmic to peach. I’ve had the suspicion for a while. In fact, the suspicion was my principal motive for wanting to test this. In every fragrance with a prominent peach note that I’ve tried, it either doesn’t read or is so abstract that it might as well not exist. Maybe that’s part of the reason why I was so harsh on Mitsouko Eau de Parfum (tentative sorry, Mitsouko). But coming back to the fragrance at hand, Mostly Just Peach may be mostly just that, because I’m not getting much. If anything, the pit is the most present part of the fruit. The opening is another toilet paper-chemical gale, but it settles down the quickest of them all. After this, I get church bathroom soap, iykyk, and Dead Sea salt scrub. It is a fleecy, sedimentary accord with hushed citrus sweetness. I was averse to this on the test strip, but it’s fine on skin. My mother used to sell Avon on the side, and when she was close, she always smelled like Skin So Soft. This reminds me of her and of slipping on bath tiles.
