Starts off difficult, but gets better and better
To be honest, I found Saphirre Passion rather difficult at first - my best friend was also rather unenthusiastic. But both he and I agreed that the scent has become more and more beautiful over time. The longevity on my skin is very good at more than 12 hours. The sillage can't quite keep up with that.
The top note starts off oriental-spicy, citrusy, sweet and fruity with aromas of lots of saffron, cardamom, nutmeg, bergamot, allspice, pink pepper, cinnamon and cloves. I recognize the flowers listed in the fragrance pyramid rather discreetly with a certain rose aroma. On the other hand, the heart note is decidedly leathery with a good portion of tobacco. The base smells woody, powdery, sweet and resinous with hints of amber, benzoin, sandalwood, musk, tonka beans, vanilla, almond milk and cedarwood.
In the end, I'm not quite sure how to categorize Saphirre Passion. But the fragrance is definitely interesting. I would like to thank Alex for the bottling.
