Unripe mango and bland gummy bears
God of Fire opens with a legitimately sour unripe mango note. It actually doesn't smell too bad, is an interesting interpretation of the mango accord. But where God of Fire really fails is in the mid and base. After about 5 minutes of fruity sourness, the scent turns sweet and musky, and it stays there until the deep drydown. No biting nagarmotha, no heady jasmine, just a bland musky gummy bear type of scent found in many fragrances, notably Erba Pura and its progeny. Was really excited about God of Fire being an unforgettable mango experience based on many reviews and influencers lauding it, but it's just another disappointing SHL. It's such a well-respected house among enthusiasts but I genuinely cannot find a fragrance of theirs I even like, much less want a full bottle of.

Is the hype justified or exaggerated?
Personally, I'm not a fan of mango scents, this note takes every perfume in a very specific direction and this note always takes over the scent profile of the perfume in an absolute way.

I know that this perfume is Stéphane Humbert Lucas' bestseller and maybe rightly so, but in my opinion this perfume is more suitable for teenagers than for adults.

In terms of longevity and SILLAGE, they are quite good.

There is no perfume in my collection with a mango note because it is simply dominant for me.

The perfume itself with mango is fruity, and also gives a synthetic feel.

7/10.

Mango and ginger!
God of fire is one of my go to scent for warm summer days or vacation. It is a beautiful blend of tropical fruits as mango and lemon and a great whiff of ginger. The bottle is absolutely beautiful and the scents lasts quite a while (8 hours). One of the best summer scents i know and i could recommend this for sure!

Mass appeal of a designer fragrance, but the quality of niche
That is how I could describe this best, it has pure mass appeal qualities, but scent is so high quality, there is nothing that gives off any sort of synthetic vibe. Also, one of the most versatile fragrances I've ever come across. It would work for any gender, any age, any setting, any time of year.

Perfect for summer.

Initial spray is a blast of a perfectly executed mango, with a little spice. The spice in this doesn't really give me ginger (even though it is supposed to be) but it feels a little more middle eastern / incense in the least overpowering way possible, it just sits in the background. Imagine Tauer's LDDM was sprayed in another room and you get the faintest whiffs of it, it's like that sitting under mango and lemon. It's so well blended that you don't really pick these out individually, they all blend together perfectly.

The mango fades fairly quickly and turns into lemon, like within 5 mins the mango is mostly gone, but will fade in and out over time. After the open you're left with lemon and spice and occasionally you get slight whiffs of a sweetness that was the mango, but it's not always present.

This is a silage monster, you'll leave a cloud of this wherever you walk. And you'll notice it on yourself walking around. It's not going to envelope you with a heavy cloud you'll smell on yourself all day like an MFK Oud Extrait, but you'll get wafts of this for a few hours (4-5), it's lighter.

I don't get the performance everyone else claims, on my skin it's loud for 3 hours, then I get a little bit here and there 4-5 hours into it. Anything after 5-6 hours it's completely gone.

Very unique scent, never come across anything quite like this.

The presentation is almost great, the box the bottle comes in is great. My only problems are that the gold plate on the front, the snake portion is extremely thin plastic that feels like it will fall off, and then the cap...the melted paint is just plastic. I wish this was more of a resin, it feels like If I am not careful taking the cap off, I might chip a piece off.

SYNTHETIC CHEMICAL SOUP
One of the standout elements in God of Fire is the mango note, which feels light, fresh, and green. It carries a watery, almost grassy undertone, with a subtle hint of cucumber. This is not the rich and creamy mango often found in tropical fragrances (my favorite is "Cruz del Sur II | XerJoff")

Instead, it leans toward an unripe, green interpretation. This unique aspect injects a refreshing tropical vibe into the fragrance. God of Fire presents an intriguing composition, but its base bears a striking resemblance to Baccarat Rouge 540, featuring that familiar sweet/medicinal amberwood accord. While this might appeal to those who enjoy the warm, resinous tones of BR540, it also means the fragrance lacks a strong sense of originality in its foundation. Additionally, there’s a synthetic, chemical-like quality to the overall scent that some may find distracting.

The scent’s transparent, airy, and diffusive quality makes it ideal for warm summer months, though the synthetic undertone and lack of originality in the base may leave some wanting more.

Fruity opening is enhanced with a note of mango. Its bubblegum-esque. Dries down to a sweet musky amber. Its better than Erba Pura.

Brilliant sugared mango opening, musks slowly ramp up over time to outpower the fruity tones and give it a slight designer vibe. Unisex.

Firstly I think it’s like Ishq, but it’s a very comfortable ginger with mango an pepper. After a while Jasmin and woods make it good.

Zesty citric, spicy opening with a tropical fruity sweetness and ginger. The drydown is musky, woody, warm spicy and cotton candy-like.

Idk why people on here always bring up the price?? Most of us frag heads don’t pay retail anyways so…. Clones can’t match the quality either.
