Medicinal cherry "cough syrup"
This is another misleading release from The Good Scent - as the name, label, and notes all seem to imply that this would be a creamy strawberry blend.
But instead of the tall glass of Nesquik-brand strawberry-flavored milk I was expecting, I experienced a medicinal cherry "cough syrup": overwhelmingly artificial, and almost scratching the back of my throat from the sharpness. No other notes, and definitely nothing creamy or lactonic.
I can only guess that the combination of pomegranate + synthetic strawberry caused this - as I could see the two creating a concentrated "grenadine syrup" feel. But I can't explain the medicinal cherry, as it's not listed but still very present to my nose.
This one missed the mark for me. I think fragrance influencers overhyped it on TikTok and in fragrance groups because 1) the overall cuteness factor of the bottle/name, 2) who wouldn't want to smell like strawberry milk?, and 3) if someone blind-bought and needed to get rid of it, no one would purchase if you described this as medicinal/cherry cough syrup.
If at all possible, it's best to test this one in person first before buying (currently available in TJX stores in the US).
