Earthy realistic rose
A very realistic tea rose opening, not sweet. The bayleaf top note is gorgeous. There's something green and herbaceous about this scent, like gentle petrichor in the forest. After a couple of minutes I can detect woody notes, blackcurrant, damp soil, and a cinnamon warmth in the background. It's sophisticated and very earthy.
I find this to be slightly less strong than other Saltworks perfumes, I need to spray a few times. Easily unisex. If you need some sweetness you won't find much here until it dries down. And even then it would be quite a stretch to call it a sweet scent.
Over time I am really warming to this. Initially I was not sure it was for me, but I am actually beginning to appreciate how natural and mossy this smells without all the jammy sweetness that is so common is rose perfumes. There's something foresty about it that is comforting to me. I think it could be one for layering with other more basic rose fragrances to create depth. It remains all day as a subtle skin scent, the dry-down is gorgeous and blackcurranty.
While i'm not usually that interested in high sillage, I do wish this had slightly more than it does and that may ultimately stop me from buying a 10ml.
