Lime meh-jito at first, pleasant dry down
This is my first full bottle of DKNY Be Delicious. I was obsessed with the adverts for the OG as a young teen. Recently, I've been looking for some fresh / fruity / floral "cheapies" for spring and summer, and I got a good offer on this.
I think I had perhaps got my hopes up too high based on other reviews and the nostalgia factor.
When first sprayed, the citrus top notes are a bit harsh. Then I get a synthetic sweet lime smell, like a sour lime bon bon or boiled sweet - not necessarily a bad synthetic, but definitely not fresh lime. As it settles, this fragrance goes through a phase where it kind of reminds me of this thick yellow hand scrub my dad had in his garage that I remember having a citrus-ish smell (I think it was called Swarfega).
The drydown is my favourite part of this fragrance, it turns into a soft, almost creamy, musky scent. There is lemon in the background but it doesn't have any sharp edges or screechiness. It doesn't project far and starts to fade on my skin after about 5 hours.
Pretty nice overall considering the price, I'll wear this on a hot day. The bottles are so cute and I can see myself trying more of this line. I'll try spraying on clothes/over moisturiser to see if I can get a bit more longevity.
