The Perfect Mint Man

Thanks to a letter of recommendation, I get to test the three Vallense fragrances.

It’s a relaxed Sunday morning, after the rain, the sun is shining.
I spray on a puff of Spirit and I am awake - there it is, the perfect top note of a mint fragrance. Really beautiful, authentic mint. Perfectly balanced with geranium (I didn’t know these two notes harmonized so well). This top note screams clarity, nature. 100% unisex and for me a 10/10.

After a few minutes, it does become rather masculine. Don’t get me wrong, please, everyone should wear what they want! (My husband exclusively wears “women’s” fragrances). But in this case, it reminds me more of a men’s shower gel in the most positive sense. The mint note remains; however, it is at its best and strongest in the top note.

It remains a green fragrance with special, herbal notes and this beautiful resinous note from the fir tree.

Personally, I see Spirit as more suited for men. And to exactly this group, I want to give a clear recommendation. Especially in spring and summer, this fragrance will be a wonderful addition.

Fleeting Glimmer of Hope

After a brief wonderful start of fresh mint, I find myself in the forest.

A long gray winter is finally coming to an end. The birds are singing more vigorously, and from the dark green-brown, fresh light green shoots are already sprouting in some places. I walk slowly through this spring forest and begin to smile. It won't be that bad - as long as nature keeps starting anew, one can still hold onto hope.

However, after twenty minutes, the forest becomes denser. The green turns darker and more herbaceous. Here, the sun has not yet coaxed many fresh shoots to emerge. It is increasingly becoming woodier. Fortunately, I can still carry the feeling of hope with me.

After half an hour, the magic of the spring forest is unfortunately completely over for me. The scent is now increasingly leaning towards a spicy woody shower gel - rather masculine. It remains quite pleasant for me, but the initial magic is now nowhere to be found. After about six hours, a close-to-skin trace of woods and resin can still be detected.

Overall, it is not a loud scent, but Spirit doesn't need to be. I wouldn't wear it myself, but I would love to sniff it now and then for a brief mental escape from bad news or the grayness of everyday life. And if my husband wanted to wear it, I would definitely have no objections.
