What else can I say about the fragrances? They are simply terrific.
Deserta is now the third Joschka/Vapormundum fragrance I've tested and this one convinced me again. I just love the Joschka fragrances.
Normally I would actually have to buy all of them at some point. Deserta actually feels like my current favorite, but that's how I felt about the other two before. I simply love them all.

The fragrance starts with an intense, very beautiful patchouli accord. I can really sense the patchouli from the start. It is slightly earthy, but still very pleasing.
Somehow it also has something slightly "sandy" at the beginning. It has a little bit of a warm desert air about it.
The fragrance is also already pleasantly spicy, woody and slightly sweet.
I actually get some slightly nutty chocolate vibes from time to time.

Somehow it feels like different impressions are active together right from the start and that just works really well.

Over time, the earthy theme becomes more intense. It also becomes a little spicier again.
Spicier but never in the sense of a spice bazaar or similar. It simply smells "differently spicy". Very, very fitting and really beautiful.

Somehow I imagine myself wearing a suit and having a business meeting in a room that is full of wooden furniture and everything is a little antique and classy in an old-school style. The Deserta would work perfectly here.

The performance is also really good once again.
The fragrance lasts about eight to nine hours on my skin and projects really well.

With you, next to me. Here next to you.
We walk together through an endless sea of sand. Time passes slowly and we wander aimlessly through this endless landscape. Venus greets the cool desert night. We stretch out our tarp and curl up on the sandy ground. This night in the desert exudes a wonderfully nostalgic scent, the scent of the unknown and the anticipation of as yet undiscovered worlds.

Around us lies a vast silence. Only the wind paints fleeting patterns in the dunes, their deep blue shadows lost in the darkness. Far away on the horizon, the contours glimmer like the echo of past hours of sunshine. No sound, just the soft trickling of the sand and the steady, barely audible breathing of the world.

Looking into the starry night and burying my nose in her hair, which is dusty from the desert sand, I fall asleep. This scent accompanies me to sleep, makes me dream of the shimmering light over the desert sand shining in the distance.
The night blows away, the sky glows,
the sun kisses us warmly on cool sand.

Deserta starts with a photorealistic, dry, almost dusty desert earth. Dry patchouli soon joins in, adding depth to the earthy character of the fragrance. As the fragrance progresses, it becomes sunnier and warmer, with a slightly ambery finish. It lingers on the skin for a long time and has a moderate to strong sillage. We will certainly be hearing a lot more from Joschka Klee.

Dry and dark - like the desert at night.
Vapormundum is a small niche brand that includes personal messages from Joschka, the boss, with the order. I wanted to get to know this brand and took a chance on a blind buy.
Here is the latest fragrance from Vopormundum: Deserta, a homage to the desert at night.
And this is exactly how the fragrance comes into its own on the skin. It is dark, earthy and dry from the very first moment. Occasionally, it almost feels like scorched earth. Smoky and brittle. Strangely enough, however, this is coherent and interesting. There are also no hints of acrid smoke. It remains really dark and dry - and bit by bit, the scorched earth becomes smouldering wood.
For me, softer notes of cedarwood only come through after a while, as if the burnt wood is being scraped away to make room for the pure woody aroma. At the same time, the fragrance becomes a little more restrained, which I really like.
Later on, there are occasional hints of dark chocolate, which I can only really detect sporadically.
Overall, Deserta is on a peaceful path. The longer it is on my skin, the sweeter and more pleasing it becomes. Even though the woody notes never completely disappear, the vanilla and a very soft patchouli become a little more pronounced.
Just like an extinguished, nocturnal fire giving way to the new day.
Conclusion:
Deserta is definitely one of my most "niche" fragrances and it is also definitely still "everybody's darling". But I don't think it wants to be either. It has rough edges and can perhaps be too extreme at first. But if you get involved with him and give him the time he needs - then he's an exciting companion who consistently goes his own way.
Deserta definitely deserves a chance.

Woody with interesting twists
The recently arrived fragrance sample arrived wrapped in black with a personally signed greeting card from the perfumer. The sample container looked equally high quality (made of glass with metal cap and metal sprayer)

The fragrance composition seems to be just as high quality: the beginning is woody and dry, but at first I thought I could hardly smell anything and sprayed several times. After a while, I thought I smelled something earthy and an extremely minimalist sweetness. In the background, something reminded me of ISO-E Super, and a little later the fragrance developed in the direction of sauna wood. At this point, I thought I recognized the scent. Could be that I was reminded of Encre Noir here.
A day later, the sprayed T-shirt smelled very pleasantly of wood with a very slight chocolate twist.

I would like the silage to be a little stronger, and I think the price is a bit steep. I'll probably try the other fragrances too, because after "Deserta" I'm curious to see what other ideas Joschka comes up with.
