Verde - Green and Not Ripe
I recently discovered the new fragrance Verde by Venti 4, and the description of the scent piqued my curiosity.
Since I had an order pending anyway, I decided to include a sample of this fragrance.
I want to take the suspense out of the review right away by expressing that this fragrance did not convince me. Especially not when considering the price, as 50 ml costs a staggering 180,- euros!
How did I perceive the scent?
Immediately after spraying, one notices that this fragrance has a high initial power in terms of sillage.
The opening is dominated by citrus notes accompanied by distinctly floral notes.
Unfortunately, the bergamot here does not smell very natural, quite the opposite!
The fragrance is characterized by a strongly synthetic DNA, making it feel very uncomfortable and uncharming.
After about 1.5 hours, the aquatic notes of Verde begin to emerge.
The amber becomes increasingly noticeable, and salty and mineral nuances can also be detected.
At the same time, however, the sillage loses a lot of its power.
Since I actually belong to the minority that enjoys aquatic fragrances, I view this development as rather positive.
Nevertheless, Verde does not achieve a good rating even with this development, which I find acceptable.
"Verde" means green in Italian, by the way.
At the same time, "verde" also means unripe.
And I would like to summarize my conclusion this way.
The fragrance is not ripe enough to compete in this price range.
