Batida de Coco
When I saw this scent, my heart jumped briefly: a lavender scent - from Tom Ford! I wonder if this is a Tom Ford for me When all the others are too loud for me, mostly inharmonic. And I love lavender, nothing can go wrong, if it also comes along in the typical Ford Sillage and durability....
So it had to be a bottling!
Sprayed on - and yes, THAT's the lavender I like. Just like the lavender sacks smell for laundry. I also have to think very briefly of my beloved "Lavandula" from Penhaligon's. Very nice!
I'm wallowing for, say, five minutes, thinking about how to get a bottle. The scent, I'm sure you've guessed, makes a U-turn. At first, again for a few minutes, I feel reminded of my beloved "Fourreau Noir" by Serge Lutens - lavender with a magical tonka bean, slightly smoky. Very nice, but I already did.
Well, I'll see what happens next.
Attentive readers of course have the title of this comment in mind, and so now follows the inevitable: After only a short time this wonderful lavender dream becomes a coconut nightmare for me. The lavender is still there (not like in "Caron pour un homme", where it disappears completely after a short time and gives way to an unbearably sweet vanilla) - but it is superimposed by a cloud of warm coconut milk. Yeah, it smells like coconut to my nose. This cloud might even be quite pleasant for most people, in between "Fourreau Noir" flashes through from time to time.

I don't like coconut at all, though. Yes, I hate it. Both on the tongue and in the nose.

Sigh - yes, I wanted to like you so much... I prefer to refrain from an evaluation, for many noses it will be a very pleasant, soft scent. The Sillage is for such a smell in the very good range, at least 7.5. Unfortunately, I can say nothing about the durability, I go to wash off the smell now :-(

Polaris
The thought puncture points of the extended earth axis through the sky vault are commonly called celestial poles. And very close to the north pole of the sky there is a star of second size called Polaris. Since it hardly circles - in contrast to its other companions - it is a good point of orientation in the sky.

The comparison of Polaris with Lavender Extreme is deliberately chosen. As a star with an apparent brightness of the second magnitude, it does not immediately fall into the eye or under the nose and is by no means - as often erroneously assumed - the brightest star of the night sky visible from Earth. As an orientation it is, however, a type enrichment in the vastness of the fragrance market with regard to the Typus´ lavender plant idea. A little bit oldschoolig and nevertheless with small own ideas, he lights the way for us now.

The bottle is great, also fits the theme and actually has something polar star-like about it.

The scent is not the brightest, the strongest, the newest. He doesn't want to be a superlative. This polar star is - as described above - a good scent orientation point in its profession.
It starts quite fresh, a bit citric. Then, of course, lavender, a very well made - herbaceous-fresh facet. A Mediterranean lavender that I have been able to see here and there in the south of France in recent years. A soul plant. Undemanding, growing on rocks - strong in winter. The latter supported by the tonka bean rounding off the track (I also perceive something cinnamony, coconut on my skin rather not), with which it ends: a soul scent. In the air with nose distance somewhat spicier, powdery. Fresh, lavenderpieksender.
with the nose on your hand very close
At the end of the celestial pole Polaris shines the autumn beautifully to me - hardly circling, not pushing itself into the foreground. My star second size.

Comeback of Dior Homme Intense 2011?
Lavender Extrême has recently aroused my interest as a relatively unknown fragrance of the Private Blend collection. Of course, the mirrored bottle has also developed a certain attractive effect, that is not to be denied. It's almost worth putting in your home just as a decoration - not to mention the 250 ml! Let's see if Soleil Brûlant still tops that.

After the first spray I thought: Wow, THAT is real lavender! And THAT is also violently too much! I got from the incredibly intense lavender note at the beginning, unfortunately, even a headache. Still, my anticipation for the drydown was unbridled. Not unjustifiably, as it turned out, because it has it all: On my skin, the scent then became creamier, more floral and more vanilla with every minute. This went on and on, until a slightly powdery note was added. Minutes and minutes passed ... and then - as if out of nowhere - the thought suddenly came to me: "I know that smell, don't I? I rummaged around in my scent memory for a moment and immediately remembered where I got it from: Dior Homme Intense. Zack, pulled out the bottle, sprayed it on the other hand and waited. And indeed: once the heart note is there, both perfumes suddenly smell incredibly similar. To the point of confusion. I don't know if it's just me with my skin chemistry - I'm really asking for feedback in the comments, I'd be dying to hear it - but with an unbiased nose, it's really hard to tell the two scents apart in a hurry.

Dior Homme Intense is of course an outstanding fragrance, so Lavender Extrême could also convince me all along the line. One wonders, however, whether you really want to leave almost 300 euros for 50 ml under these conditions at Tom Ford, you get your money's worth at Dior for just under 70 euros. The only reason from my point of view to pay the "surcharge" is the performance: Here Tom Ford has once again unpacked the Tuscan Leather steroids. The sillage is unbelievably fierce, especially in the first three hours, the durability was always effortlessly ten hours for me. Since Dior Homme Intense has, unfortunately, been weakening more and more with the newer batches, it's not so wrong to have a stronger alternative in your repertoire. For me, Lavender Extrême is therefore something like Dior Homme Intense 2011 reloaded. Only a nuance fresher and more versatile.

My conclusion: A fragrance worth trying, you won't regret buying.

Lavender cuddles on clay cushions!
For me personally, lavender is a fragrance that one loves very much or cannot stand it at all. There is no in between. The herbaceous and tart version of lavender is very often present in eau de colognes and that is often too strong for me. But when lavender appears in a tamed version as a fragrance with vanilla or, as in Lavender Extreme, with cinnamon and tonka, I'm blown away.

Lavender Extreme starts very citric and already with a full load of lavender. So quite intense and suddenly with a very intensive scent perception. After about 10 - 15 minutes, cinnamon is added as a scent and soothes this violent first attack on the scent perception. Now the lemon withdraws but is still easy to perceive. Half an hour later a very nice tone canote is added and makes the scent incredibly soft and gentle. Cinnamon and lemon are still there and in the background both underline only this wonderful creamy lavender, which literally cuddles up to the skin and makes you dream of a holiday in Provence.

The silage is now not as violent as with other Tom Ford scents and at a distance of half a meter it is still perceptible to the surroundings, but it does not fill the room. After about 5 hours the farewell has come and now the flowering lavender field slowly disappears into the sunset. Now the nose has to sniff heavily to catch some more nuances of the scent.

Conclusion: As an absolute lavender fan I like this fragrance very much, but the usual price for 50 ml Lavender Extreme is already insane. I have not regretted it and could now add another fragrance jewel to my collection. To all the other lavender fans I can only say that this scent is the hammer.

Clay lotion with lavender flavour
I like the smell of lavender. I like Tom Ford. And I appreciate the sophisticated elegance of many of his fragrances. The anticipation was great to finally have the time to test Lavender Extreme extensively. Unfortunately, my expectations were quite undercut here.

The prelude is a beautiful, fresh, intense lavender, which at first does justice to its name Extreme. Soon the lavender unfortunately sinks into a gigantic trough of clay cream. I had a picture in mind, as you know it from yoghurt advertisements or from these care creams: In close-up you see an animated drop of liquid slowly falling into a container full of creamy substance, sinking into it very smoothly, and in the end everything is stirred again nice and slowly.

It smells something like that now. Unfortunately, nothing is extreme here anymore - at least not the lavender. It is still perceptible, but is now completely outshined by the extraordinary sweetness of Tonka. I have nothing against tonka, I also have nothing against creamy fragrances. But here I seriously ask myself what the whole thing is about. Sweet, creamy, lavender. That's it. That's too sweet one-dimensional for me.

Conclusion: Unfortunately, it has little to none of the subtle sex appeal inherent in the DNA of other Tom Fords. It has quite a good durability, but a not so remarkable sillage. And all this at a standard price of 276 Euro - for 50 ml, mind you.

So no, it doesn't do justice to Tom Ford, it doesn't do justice to the price. For ending up smelling like you've been treated with a pretty sweet tonka lavender lotion. Undoubtedly the most expensive you can get on the market.

Nice herbaceous lavender, but that's it. No complexity and nothing extreme, apart from the price.

Lavender, with a almondy and powdery tonka, lightly sweet and spicy. It reminds the bag of dried lavender, ready to be placed in a drawer.

Creamy gourmand leaning lavander-tonka scent. Lovely but unfortunately it reminds me too much of shower gells like Felce Azzura.
