Boozy, spicy gourmand, well blended
Sampling Versatile Paris Gueule de Bois, my second try from this house, a mix of amber, pepper, rum, cinnamon, and incense. It’s woody, sweet, smoky, spicy, resinous, and boozy, without overdoing any one aspect, in my opinion, fairly pleasant while being a bit provocative, a palpable winner for cooler weather especially, something I’d certainly wear plenty of. The rum/pepper aspect reminds me a bit of part of Guerlain Gourmand Coquin, and its spiciness reminds me of Atelier Cologne Tobacco Nuit, though this is a bit more easygoing than both while still being dark and interesting. Overall, I’m really pleased with it and want to wear more of it.
The entire line is sold with rollerball application at extrait concentration, priced at $55 for 15ml, available via boutiques like Ministry of Scent, from which I bought my discovery set. I’m now 2 for 2 after having tried God Bless Cola, both of which are easily full bottle worthy, and I look forward to trying the rest of the line.
