Tropezienne and pastis

A very pleasant surprise, i'm not into sweet things but this one hit the spot.
I'm from the south of France and it embodies its best parts. The ripe summer fig, the creamy tropezienne (a brioche stuffed with a blend of whipped cream and butter cream, completely decadent) and the aromatics from the anise, which clearly evokes pastis (southern digestive)

The whole thing make it really addictive, and i will wear it with delight when i will go south during the holidays

Fresh figgy green aquatic, nicely done

Sampling Versatile Paris Sea, Sud & Sun, my final try from their current catalogue and discovery set. It has the makings of a fresh, green fig scent with aquatic touches, very similar in that construction to Dior Balade Sauvage (of the Privee collection, allegedly slated for discontinuation in the US market), so a nice alternative to the Dior, but not quite as accessible, a little quirkier with a little more of an animalic marine vibe, pivoting away from the citrus and fig a bit, albeit with a similar list of aspects. It’s very nicely done, though, and some who like Balade Sauvage may very well prefer this, and I’d recommend that everyone check it out anyway as it’s a neat concept that I enjoy more than I would’ve expected (prior to smelling Balade Sauvage)---figgy, green, aquatic.

Like the rest of the line, this is priced at $55 for 15ml in extrait concentration, with rollerball application, sold via boutiques like Ministry of Scent, from which I bought the discovery set.

Dachshund spaghetti

Background: Perfumos send me samples, I then test the perfumes sent to me without any knowledge and describe my response - that of an inexperienced dilettante.

No sample sprayer at all this time, it seems to be a perfume oil that is applied to the skin using sticks. It seems exotic at first, and that's exactly what the bouquet offers: the top note seems to be freshly cooked spaghetti with walnut oil. Accompanied by a fine resinous note and light incense. Suddenly, a hint of citrus emerges and disappears again faster than the roadrunner Speedy Gonzales can race after it. Instead, a considerable fruity-green hedge suddenly grows around the nuttiness hidden between the pasta. Tell me, did someone really pour coastal fog on it?
I'm grinning like a honey cake horse at the obscure exoticism and am amazed at the bizarre variation possibilities. And that in the end it also results in such a harmonious Mediterranean mixture! I start dreaming.
Suddenly it goes "Pffrzztt." and I realize that it was unwise to traipse carelessly through the park with my hand in front of the olfactory bulb while I am self-hypnotized with my 5-year-old daughter at the annual dachshund meeting. 200 dachshunds, something can go wrong, which is exactly what my shoes are telling me now. The smell test better be postponed early.
At least an hour later, our magic mouse is firmly convinced that my hand now smells of just one thing: "Dachshund!".
So let's summarize briefly: The top notes are spaghetti and walnut, the heart notes are a fruity hedge, coastal mist and incense. And in the base we have, according to the experts, dachshund. Very nice. I'm off to polish my shoes, impressed.
