A night at the movies
On my skin this opens with a blast of lime tinged cola followed by a hefty handful of buttered popcorn. Once these start to quiet down it's a lovely warm fragrance of warm cornbread, creamy vanilla and woody notes. I also get hints of peanut butter and caramel from time to time. A very well composed fragrance from a house that makes interesting gourmands. Mouthwatering!

Liquefied carnival, a mix of its notes, including some cola, delightful
Sampling Versatile Paris - God Bless Cola, one of the house’s most recent releases and my very first try of the house, ordered from Ministry of Scent because I saw it advertised there and it definitely caught my eye. The note list includes cola, popcorn, caramel, peanut butter, soft woods, sweet gourmand notes, and vanilla, and it largely delivers on these blend, mainly a peanut/caramel popcorn blend with a bit of cola, rather than being particularly cola-led, which is fine, since there are a couple of more cola-centric fragrances on the market that I love in Mancera Tonka Cola and Hendley Cola. It’s more reminiscent of Kerosene Unknown Pleasures in sort of caramel waffle aspect, albeit without the citrus but a little bit of effervescence via the cola, perhaps. Frankly, though, I cannot get enough of interesting gourmand creations like this that combine a variety of aspects for one collective scent memory. This transports me to not only a carnival / fair, but also to a movie theatre / cinema. Overall, it’s a lovely scent and off of the dabber sample seems to perform well, and this makes me look forward to sampling the rest of the house.

God Bless Cola and other perfumes in the house are priced at $55 for 15ml in extrait (30%) concentration, sold with rollerball application, via boutiques like Ministry of Scent and Luckyscent.

More Popcorn than Cola
This fragrance makes me think of going to the movies when I was a kid. The nice theater that offers kettle corn and vanilla coke. You are sitting down to watch a movie in a dark theater with family or friends, sharing the snacks between you all. Its nostalgia in a bottle, warm and sweet. I will say that the sweet popcorn outperforms the what should be the cola notes in this fragrance. You do get it briefly in the beginning, a quick lime, vanilla, and cinnamon that feels almost fizzy in your nose, but its gone in a flash. The dry down is a creamy, slightly nutty, vanilla. This is a great fragrance but if you are going to put Cola in the name of the fragrance, I think that should be the dominant note. It lasted over 6 hours on my skin, it has great projection, and its $65 for 15ml. I think that is pretty pricey for that volume but I think its worth it because with how this fragrance performed and how unique the scent is, you wouldn't have to apply a lot and would probably only use for special occasions, not daily wear. Its is also worth noting that 3% of proceeds goes towards breast cancer research.

Cola caramelizing with tiny pieces of lime zest on lightly spiced cornbread
This is like if cola was mixed with cornbread….It’s so weird that it’s really nice. At first sniff from just the roller ball you get hit with a cola that’s a bit fizzy with a lime slice but with a “buttery” type feel, a lot of people say they get popcorn but to me it leans more Cola with kettle corn/cornbread with butter on top, the cola note stays for most of the first hour and a half as it goes towards this gourmand sweet/soft spiced with this woody note on the skin, throughout the entire wear time it gets more softer while still remaining sweet. I say if you wear this and walked past someone they could definitely smell this on you but it does lean more intimate to the skin. It’s kinda nostalgic! 15ml for $65 but with a concentration of 30% perfume oil it’s justifiable. Lasted me 8 hours so far and I can still smell it on my forearms.

More than just a cola scent
God Bless Cola by Versatile Paris is an impressively authentic and surprisingly nuanced fragrance that taps into the heart of authentic cola, while taking the whole fragrance experience way beyond a simple novelty. This is a bold and bright homage to the classic drink, that appeals to those that appreciate gourmand but with a twist.

Heavily buttered popcorn with a hint of fizzy soda in the background. Not a wearable scent for me but I think it's so fun!

Popcorn, cornbread, cola and vanilla. A party? A night at the movies? Cola isn't prominent but butter, corn and vanilla are.

I wore this while on a long drive with my sister. All I smelled was cola and all she smelled was popcorn. She hated it on me but I was in soda heaven.

boring on its own but fun to layer with gourmand & even boozy scents in fall/winter for added fun

At first, the greasy popcorn dominates, with the citrusy sweet-spicy aromas of cola showing up later. Perfect for a (home) movie night?
