Spices and woods

Witchy Woo was probably one of my most failed fragrance buys. I was really attracted by the holistic vision of the brand.

I decided to try Witchy Woo in store after sampling I don't know how fragrances before. I bought the scent immediately. I tried it a few days after and all I got was : black pepper and woods. I am not sure if it is a skin chemistry thing.

It is a dry scent. Not as feminine leaning as one would think. For me this is a perfectly unisex scent.

In the end, I didn't enjoy the scent and I ended up selling it. It had never took me so long to sell a fragrance. Since then, I have been more careful with my fragrance buys

Patchouli baby powder

This is way too heavy on the orris-rose-white musk combo for my taste. That trio lends everything else a powdery quality, overwhelming the spicy and woody notes. The result smells like patchouli baby powder. I'm not a fan. I can see how this is trying to give off witchy vibes, with the incense and patchouli, but for me it misses the mark completely.

“The incense store lady”

The first thing I thought when I tried Witchy Woo was “wow, I’m going to smell like a lady from an incense store”. You know the ones, there’s a ton of mandalas on the walls, tie dye t-shirts, and a lingering smell of burning sage. The most prominent note of the perfume is sandalwood, as you probably guessed :)

I really like to wear this in the cooler weather, I feel like this perfume opens best under a cold wind. The projection is strong initially but goes down to civil 1-hand distance within an hour on me. After that people can still sense the perfume on you, but it’s not attacking anymore.

The perfume lasts a good 6-8 hours on me, with the last 2 being pretty intimate. I really like it for when I’m in a mood for a less feminine scent. Glad I got the 7.5ml spray in an advent calendar, it was a nice discovery (but certainly not a blind buy).

Patchouli Spice

My husband gifted me this perfume. It’s very spicy, winter-like and warming. The patchouli is prominent, along with cinnamon, pepper, and Frankincense.
It’s strong—great sillage and longevity. Reminds me of how I would think a spice market would smell in the Middle East.
I’ll add more to this review once I wear it several more days, but so far it’s lovely!

I’m a fan. I don’t know why this is not something that I would wear out would gravitate towards, I like this. It’s gothic elegant beautiful.

Unisex 100%, leans to wearing in colder weather. It’s not a perfume for everybody. Don’t blind buy.
