Sweet & Sticky Slushy
Holy Hell. This stuff..... Wow.
Starts out all pukey violet. The bad violet - too sweet - akin to that used in Ultraviolet by Paco Rabanne. I'm really not a fan of that one. But joining the violet stampede, there rains a heavy downpour of extraordinarily indolic sweet pea.

Those screaming "grape!" are definitely onto something. I didn't for a second envision this scent to have the weight it has. Having read that it was "inspired" by biting into a violet macaron, I expected powdery and delicate violet on a soft floral base.

It's heady, heavy, and lays along the lines of Agent Provocateur's Maitresse. The violet note being alike, certainly. From my perspective, there's unmistakably something "bathrooms", "hotels" or "hospitals" about this, but I can't seem to see this as a negative. It smells almost like a blend of essential oils, specifically similar to a particularly pricey one I've tried by Darphin, called "8-Flower Nectar".

Candy sweet yet sultry. Like a blue Slush Puppy melting like butter all over a chocolate-coated, wilting bouquet in the heat of a sunny afternoon, on the windowsill of a hotel located at the heart of a British seaside town.

Cupcakes with Candied Violets
I have paid little - or to be honest - no attention to the brand Issey Miyake so far.
I was all the more surprised by the positive fragrance experience I recently had with Pleats Please L'Eau.

Last week, during one of my strolls through the perfume shops, I received a sample of Pleats Please Eau de Parfum. The name and the bottle don't appeal to me that much, but -

- my curiosity about the scent was rewarded. A beautiful violet greets me immediately. However, it is not a boisterous violet like the one from L'Erbolario. With dark, velvety, large eyes, this violet looks out into the world, serious - almost a little melancholic.
At first, I can detect a delicate citrus undertone, just very subtle, yet fruity-fresh.
Soon, the violet note becomes sweeter and softer, but the melancholic undertone remains, perhaps even intensifies with the hours. The peony and also the sweet pea are faintly recognizable. However, the serious violet with the large gentle eyes remains the focus.

The blooming period of violets is very short. They welcome spring, and that’s it. I still see dark green violet leaves in dense clusters in the garden, but for the lovely flowers, it will be a long wait until after the next winter. Perhaps this knowledge makes my violet here feel so heavy-hearted. But I don’t want that.....

The sweet violet has quickly grown dear to my heart. I don’t like that it is melancholic. Just as well, it could be a candied violet, dark purple and fine-sweet in taste - the crown of a nicely decorated cupcake.

I like the comparison more and more. The delicate sweetness and the violet harmonize perfectly. The fine, lovely fragrance accompanies me for many hours. Pleats Please is not a striking scent, rather a quiet flatterer. A little sweet something for the soul!
On warm summer days and also in autumn, these little cakes, placed on fine porcelain, could delight the heart. The delicate candied violets surely please many a connoisseur. Almost too good to eat.
How wonderful that there is Pleats Please Eau de Parfum!

This violet knows about transience - but it is also certain: The next spring will surely come.

Couch-Potato in a Fragrance Rapture...
No, not a fragrance local. No, not a fragrance flirt mood. No, I’m just sitting in my armchair and want to indulge in my couch-potato existence.... Until a tea-flower-scent-bouquet-I-can’t-describe fragrance captures me....

And guess what... And tears me apart.... And seduces me to a spontaneous fragrance flirt...

Mmmm.... where does this scent come from? I had forgotten my purple coarsely crocheted fragrance pouch with new samples on my armchair the night before and PLEASE PLEATS urged me through convincing fragrance Morse signals to get to know it.

Well - spray.... Mmmmm..... A spicy, creamy, and vanillic fragrance bouquet cuddles on my forearm.... The fragrance sweet peas and peonies dance around me like elves, practically throwing a creamy party - urging the vanilla to develop creamier and it plays along. As all the fragrance notes settle, a makeup-galactic powdery note develops through the patchouli, seducing me, making me addicted...

But then it happens. It’s gone.

Not even 30 minutes later, there’s only a little left on my skin. As great as it started, it said goodbye just as quickly - what a shame, the fragrance has a scent addiction factor.

But what should I tell you... Whatever, I’ll spray another round...

Because you know what... Long live my armchair, long live the couch-potato existence, and above all - long live the new week!

Because the next fragrance flirt is sure to come.

Where are the wrinkles?
Today, before heading to puppy school, I spritzed Pleats Please EDP with a smile, as it reminded me of a situation that occurred when my mom's poodle Samson was still in his baby shoes.

My aunt and I had comfortably settled at the coffee table - Samson seemingly well-behaved at our feet.
My aunt was wearing one of her obligatory, calf-length Burberry pleated skirts, and we were chatting animatedly.
There was so much to talk about - and the little poodle didn’t make a peep.
When my aunt stood up, we saw the aftermath!
Samson had reverently chewed on the hem of her skirt, leaving it limp and wet - without a single pleat.
You couldn't have pressed it better with an iron.
My mother exclaimed excitedly: Where are the wrinkles? and my aunt replied amusedly: I still have plenty of those - on my face!
We all had to laugh - and the little poodle wagged his tail joyfully.
Good thing my aunt wasn't a stickler for details.

And the fragrance also exudes good cheer.
It is full and soft, and doesn’t evoke sharp wrinkles at all - rather a swaying bell skirt.

The violet enters confidently, and not at all modestly, as it is often said, giving the fragrance a cheerfully romantic touch.
The peony is elegant and the sweet pea is enchantingly persistent.
A stroll in a bell skirt through the blooming garden.

Patchouli adds warmth and depth - and the delicately sweet vanilla makes Pleats Please cuddly.

A soft, inviting scent, which matches the violet blue of the bottle well.
Only accurate wrinkles, I can't imagine with it.
Our Samson probably can’t either - otherwise he wouldn’t have redesigned my aunt's strict skirt.

Violet Bouquet
~ Inspiration ~
Last May, I tested the EDT of “Pleats Please,” which was a bit too scratchy for me. Now, I received a leftover sample of the EDP from the lovely Veri83.

~ Bottle ~
The diamond-shaped “Pleats” bottle, featuring a gradient from intense violet to delicate lilac, is said to be inspired by the eponymous fashion collection of the Japanese designer Issey Miyake - colorful, light, modern, and extravagant. The cap is modeled after a white flower. “Pleats Please” captures the pleated folds and fits the cheerful, colorful campaign “Joy to Spray!”

~ Scent ~
It starts fruity with juicy-sweet nashi pears and macarons. After a few minutes, a radiant, enchanting bouquet of violet violets and delicate flowers of the sweet pea, along with pink peonies, emerges. With patchouli, cedarwood, and a hint of creamy vanilla, it gently fades away.

~ Longevity ~
On my skin, it lasts about 7 hours (even longer on clothing and hair). 2-3 sprays are sufficient, as it is quite intense and otherwise becomes too scratchy and stuffy for me.

~ Occasion ~
A somewhat heavier fruity-floral scent for the mild days and evenings in spring and autumn. It can also be considered as a subtle office scent.

~ Conclusion ~
Unlike expected, there is no Asian restraint here. I like it a bit better than the EDT, as it is somewhat powdery and not quite as scratchy.

Extremely artificial violet. So artificial that it's actually good. Plus a base of patchouli. Aurélien Guichard can do this.

A bit "darker & softer" than the EdT. I like both and enjoy wearing them in spring right after winter. I'm in the mood for floral abundance.

Cute purple shimmering violet, sweet with aquatic-peachy notes. Everything is very soft, harmonious without sharp edges. My teenage dream.

Violets and sweet peas are competing here, a scent shock for the nose! But then it becomes really warm and vanilla-like. Very present.

Violets "dark" in a vanilla coat; intense, life-affirming (sweet pea?) and friendly. I really like it, much more than the EDT.

Spicy strong start, then very similar to Insolence EDP. Very good sillage. I like it a lot :-)

Very sweet, very patchouli-heavy violet. The opening is heavy and stuffy, then the violet comes through and stays very present/sweet.
