Not so mystic as it sounds
Oh my, is that Nishane or Amouage? Once upon a time it blows from Greece to the Middle East...a thick flow of fragrant molecules. I think the wind is calling for beautiful silky non-tea bergamot, soft oily pepper, supple stems of cypriol, luxurious herbal hay for Arabian thoroughbreds, drying damp clover, the polished wooden stable of the sheikh and the polished horse air-conditioned by the savannah breeze.
I blush slightly, I read about the scent, it is also about roses.

Rose-Oud let down
I bought this fragrance as an addition to my Rose-Oud collection, also Nishane is one of my favorite niche-brands and I love a lot of their fragrances.
Synthetic florals make for a fake fruity experience, smells cheap and screechy. It gets better in the dry-down but I’m disappointed in Nishane. My nose can’t make out one particular floral note or even a clear rose note at all. In complete it does smell kind of oriental but that is it.
I’d say this is kind of similar to Blue Sapphire Parfum but definitely smells WAY cheaper.

Hidden Gardens of the Morning
It was a morning when the world still seemed to be half-asleep. The sun had just begun to cast its first rays over the rooftops of the city, and a gentle breeze played with the curtains of my window. I applied Favonius to my wrist, unaware that this moment would be forever etched in my memory.

At first, there was the freshness of bergamot, as clear and vibrant as morning dew on leaves, interwoven with a hint of pink pepper that made me smile with a slight tingle. Then the rose unfolded-not the usual, slightly sweet bloom, but a rose full of depth, spicy, majestic, carried by incense that wafted through the alleys like a soft breath.

As I walked through the city, the air suddenly felt denser, richer, filled with stories from ancient times. The oud and wood notes at the end of the fragrance gave me a sense of grounding, of strength and permanence. At the same time, everything felt like a dance: the wind played with the blossoms, the sun reflected in the windows, and I felt like a part of an eternal, elegant flow of light and scent.

Favonius was more than just a perfume for me that morning. It was a companion, a whisper of nature, a touch of luxury, and at the same time a reminder that even the most fleeting moments can be full of beauty. I could still smell it hours later on my clothes, and every time I lifted my hand, it seemed a small part of that morning came alive again.

It was as if the fragrance itself preserved the memory of that moment-the freshness, the warmth, the delicate power of the rose, and the quiet, venerable breath of the incense. Favonius was not just a scent, but an experience, a fleeting spring captured in a drop of perfume.

At Harrods, they already know me...
...(at least at the Nishane stand).
Maybe also in the Xerjoff Lounge on the sixth floor, probably next to Floraiku. But definitely at Nishane. I've been to Harrods three times to try the Harrods exclusive fragrance Favonius at the Nishane stand. Always found it brilliant, but never bought it due to the rather steep price.

In the last few days, I was back in London and this time I did it. It hardly hurt at all (the credit card bill will come in a few days, and then the tears will probably flow). For now, however, there were only tears of joy. Joy over this fragrance, which for me not only belongs to Nishane's best but is probably one of the most beautiful rose-oud combinations you can buy. If it weren't so expensive and complicated to purchase (only at Harrods or by ordering from Istanbul), I'm sure it would be Nishane's flagship. As it is, it remains a little secret of the brand.

When I first tried it, however, it was not love at first sight (more like "at the first sniff"). That day, I had done a little perfume tour through London, and not only were my legs exhausted after 40,000 steps, but probably my nose as well. However, I caught myself sniffing Favonius again and again from all the test strips I had received in the following days. Back in Munich, I left the tester in the car at first. The next day, I was greeted by the full inhalation of Favonius when I got in. That probably says it all about the fragrance's performance. It lasts easily a week on clothing, and on the skin, it radiates all day.

So what does it smell like? Somehow, I still can't say exactly. I smell cherry and berries, even though there aren't any according to the fragrance pyramid. You might catch a whiff of incense and definitely the bouquet of flowers listed. Rose and oud come more in the combination known from my dearly loved Oud Satin Mood (just in a less intrusive way than with Maison Francis Kurkdjian). Thank goodness it's not cheesy and musty like Oud Silk Mood; that would drive me away.

All in all, perfectly rounded and balanced, probably unisex (at least I, as a man, am now diligently spraying it on) and somehow a shame that it gets so little attention. But maybe this will drive some of you to Harrods now - they also have great juices and sandwiches that don't strain the wallet as much as Favonius. Maybe you'll see me on the sixth floor at Xerjoff or Favonius. But definitely at Nishane on the ground floor.

Exclusivity has its charm, but also its price / Its enormous potential / Rose - Oud with a special touch
Hello everyone,

Actually, this review was planned as my 100th (!) but it turned into a different fragrance, and I wanted to get to know and LOVE the Favonius even more than I did about two months ago (or so).

Quietly and unassumingly, it has become one of my favorite fragrances, and I’ll tell you why!

Some would say it’s just one of x - hundred Rose - Oud fragrances, but to all those who only say that, I must say..., please move along! Because those who only see + think that simply do not know the fragrance!

Yes, in terms of pure craftsmanship, it is that, and anyone who knows Oud Satin Mood Eau de Parfum knows about 40% which direction it goes, but it is certainly not an expensive "KNOCKOFF" of Oud Satin Mood Eau de Parfum ....

How does it differ?

It offers such perfect facets, for example, the frankincense, and NO we are not talking about churchly "sacred" frankincense - not at all. There are also noticeably other spices present that are really detectable, like pepper and, for example, mugwort - those create a wonderful picture in the background (they paint the picture for me).

However, the fragrance gets a special and yes "unique" touch from the patchouli. I don’t know of any fragrance on the market that does it as well as Favonius.

Some will also think now, oh no I don’t want to smell like (damp) earth and that with frankincense..., ok I am done!

I am honest (as always), my way of thinking was not that different ;) , but I was so surprised! Also, it is not at all "damp earthy", but rather cooling, and that in combination with the non-sacred frankincense + rose with beautiful oud + 1 or 2 spices makes the "fragrance" a true work of art!

I see it more for men, but NOT strongly/clearly. Yes, it has a certain tendency, but it can also be worn by women!

Now to the performance:

I must say that I only have a 2021 batch, which is quite interesting because it was not as brutal back then as it is today! I find the performance today to be almost "absurd" in a Nishane typical way, in the sense of 20h+ with 6 sprays, and the sillage is CRAZY and still comfortably in the 2m+ range after 8h, which is not insignificant in my opinion!

Is it worth the money?

This can only be assessed subjectively and relatively. If I say yes and you say no, or I say no and you say yes, it really doesn’t bring much in my opinion. I like to evaluate a fragrance based on what it can do, what it offers, how it is made, and so on. And with this fragrance, you can really notice the quality, and that’s no lie! Nishane consistently delivers quality, and you often see what is possible and achievable, and I’ll put it this way, you should definitely test it!

So far, 99% of people have liked/loved the fragrance, but only with a dosage of 7+ sprays does it become mediocre :P !

Recommendation:

If I really weren’t convinced, I wouldn’t recommend it to you!

(At least for one test for sure, and if you like this direction, then congratulations on your new Favonius)

And now have a nice day/evening or whenever you read this review, best regards, Benny
_______

(Now the same as almost always - because it applies!)

Now to the topic of luxury:

As you can see in part in my profile, I have really smelled many fragrances, and there are fragrances where you can smell a certain (partly) strong synthetic note, and you quickly realize that some fragrance houses focus more on quantity than quality, and there are some where you notice "oh come on, let’s add more + better ingredients" and you can smell that at the end of the day.

A quick note on the packaging, bottle, sprayer:

I’ll keep it short, I give a 9 - 10 out of 10 in every category, and I know very well that tastes are very different, I like everything very much. So, if someone honestly rates this with an 8 or less... - PHEW. Beautiful and very high-quality cap, beautiful timeless bottle design, etc. .... so I find it very hard to rate it differently, and I’m not saying this because I like or dislike a brand!

Now a brief note on my opinion:

I am not sponsored, influenced by anyone, receiving money or anything else. I approach the topic of perfume as I am, being honest, everything else is not for me. My true personal opinion is very VALUABLE to me, and I hope maybe ;) that this is noticeable. If I don’t like something, like packaging, bottle, sprayer, or H/S, I will communicate that too!

Very beautiful oriental, rose-incense fragrance, with a slight sweet, green-balsamic touch laying on a nice woody base. Amazing performance.

Oldschool rose with patchouli. Nothing new and original. Dusty, earthy patchouli but it doesn't work here.

Sweet-jammy rose opposed by cypriol & a bizarre aromatic-herbal aspect (I'd guess sage or mugwort). Comparable to Shem, but not as smooth.

Bergamot & Patchouli make the rose-oud combo smell sour, not a pleasant fragrance experience for me. Sage is hardly noticeable.

The typical Nishane DNA with sweet-spicy notes. I can personally smell the rose and the woodiness well. Great first impression.
