Luxury in a bottle
I tested this several times before ordering a full bottle because it is pretty expensive I didn’t want to blind buy it.
This is expensive but it is worth every peny of it
It opens very bright because of the citruses mixed with that patchouli, you can also smell that rose and oud but in the opening they are only back in the background. In the heart is where that rose and jasmin come to life and that oud starts to come more alive while citruses and patchouli start to fade a little bit.
For me the drydown is where this one shines it becomes a lot more oudy and earthy also with a little sweet touch from the jasmin it is amazing.
I have never came across anything that smells close to this it is by far one of the most unique scents. Also I don’t know how or why, maybe it is because of the bottle but it smells somehow blue to me. Very intoxicating and sexy although be very careful with that sprayer this one lasts and projects like no other perfume it’s amazing how strong this one is. It has been changed in the perfume oil where before it was PURE PARFUM now it’s EAU DE PARFUM but still there are absolutely 0 issues with the performance of this one. If you are looking for something special something that you never smelled before please check this one out, it is an amazing blend which is a little bit pricy about 700€ but trust me, it is worth every penny of it, that is why It became my most prefered perfume ever :).

Very special, great performance
Wow perfume.
An aromatic scent that caresses the nose for long hours.
The perfume has presence, people knew you were coming.

Lemony scent at the beginning, then rose and oud take over along with jasmine and cardamom.

In my opinion, it is better than its second version, Blue Sapphire Supercharged Which is also significantly more expensive.

I recommend buying after testing.

9.5/10.

Expensive beautiful blue bottle
It might be a kind of trend to create exotic and ultra expensive perfumes because like Xerjoff the britan brand Boadicea also have their blue bottles line. Blue Sapphire is a Harrods Exclusive that seems towards their public that loves oud creations. This is another one the usual combination of roses and agarwood, with some similarties in this accord with Guerlain Rose Nacree du Desert.Sapphire opens more musky than it on skin, with an animalic variety that seems to give this dirty nuance to the oud, but soon this oud accord takes on its medicine and woody naunces and mixes with the roses aroma. Those are roses with a green lemony aura, slightly bitter, and that are finished in a earthy patchouli that shows itself after one hour on skin.Certainly is a good oud perfume, but suffers from the same problem as many ones, that if you already have one in your collection it has big chances of being redundant. Unless, of course, that you are a bottle and oud fragrances collector and had fallen in love with the very beautiful blue tonality that this one has.

Golden child
The coverage has come to Boadicea's most famous premium product, that being Blue Sapphire Parfum. While Blue Sapphire isn't the first Boadicea I've tried at this price point (€835/100ml; shared with Nemer and Angelic); I am coming into this expecting the fragrance, dubbed in this review as the "golden child", to deliver an experience on par with the various €500-600 fragrances that rule my all-time ratings. Unfortunately, that was not a realistic standard.

I feel like it's worth noting that Blue Sapphire Parfum launched at the same time as two other rose-oud fragrances from Boadicea, those being Nemer Parfum and Almas. I didn't write a review for either of them, but to me, having an understanding of where they shine and fall short will give the reader an understanding for the type of product I was anticipating. With Nemer, you get a smooth opening of rose & saffron. The initial dry-down of Nemer is oud and chocolaty-earthy patchouli, but there are some interesting touches about Nemer as well - some aromatic nuances that most people would associate with Kilian's discontinued oud fragrances. The dry-down of Nemer is woody-oriental and there isn't much rose nor saffron. Almas is the exact opposite: a rose-oud fragrances that primarily smells of the rose & saffron, with the opening having strong overlap with Nishane's showstopper Nefs. Unlike Nefs, Almas doesn't have a lot of depth: the scent is structured on mild oud and moderate patchouli.

This brings us to Blue Sapphire Parfum which on my first and only wear so far opens animalic-woody followed by light rose. Much like both Nemer and Almas, the rose is done very well. In the top, the on-skin experience first smells spicy with prominent ambers, meaning the scent mostly smells of amber & oud with very little rose. In the heart, the patchouli becomes a dominant note, offering up both earthy touches and nutty ones. There are some touches of sage in the base also, but nothing too prominent. Relative to the voted accords, I don't smell any citrus, making the true accords woody-oriental-spicy with floral-animalic being a distant 4th and 5th.

As the previous 2 paragraphs clearly indicate, the issue with Almas is the lack of depth in the woody-oriental direction and the issue with both Nemer Parfum and Blue Sapphire Parfum is the lack of depth in the floral-sweet direction. Performance on all 3 fragrances is moderate-to-strong with Blue Sapphire coming out ahead, I am putting it around 10-12 hours on first wear for longevity with moderate-to-strong sillage.

For what it's worth, Blue Sapphire's place in the market is obviously cemented as I am yet to smell a single faithful take with fragrances like TSOD's Dubai - Majalis falling short and Electimuss' Auster being a horribly executed product. Nonetheless, Blue Sapphire Parfum falls short for the same reason as several other products from Boadicea: there is a lack of depth in either notes, accords or both to the point where the scent comes off unpolished. And unfortunately for the reader, going up in price within Boadicea's catalogue doesn't appear to be remedying the problem.

Remarkably Unremarkable
Opens startlingly spicy and even a little astringent before progressing swiftly (and a bit murkily) to a fairly standard rose-oud blend with a bit of patchouli lurking around the edges.

It’s nice.

It’s fine.

It’s not unique, nor is it of extraordinarily high quality.

In all honesty, I think this may be one of those instances where exorbitant cost primes reviewers to interpret a scent in a particularly generous way (after all, a pricetag like that ~must~ mean it’s exceptional, right?). Frankly I would be very curious to see if this fragrance would still get glowing praise in a blind sniff test with similar perfumes.

Projection and longevity are both on the high end of moderate, and it’s classically unisex.

Is this worth like a good niche triptic collection + spare change for a bottle of champers? Not even remotely.

Candied fruits, some patchouli and a hint of medicinal, synthetic oud. Boring and hilariously overpriced.

Blue Sapphire opens with citrus, rose and a strong dose of saffron, settling into a dark blend of smoky oud, amber and earthy patchouli.
