A masterpiece and performance monster
MFK is one of my favourite brands. You simply get a lot of quality and at prices that are fair for niche markets. Especially on the Internet. Beside Amyris Homme and Lumiere Noire this is the 3rd of this brand in my collection. What's for sure: Some will follow.
As far as a test was concerned, I've avoided it for a long time. For me, Oud is a note that should not be missing in a versatile collection. It's not my favorite note, but it's a beautiful unique note. Since I already own few Oud fragrances my need is rather covered. Fortunately, a small bottling nevertheless made its way into the shopping basket, because this fragrance is more satin mood than oud. This fragrance rightly has these high ratings, even in performance. Also many owners are indicated here. In any case a fragrance that enriches the collection very much, especially in the colder season.

I tested it about 1 year ago and was immediately enthusiastic. He kind of has that special something. A scent that you just smell and rave about. As the bottling was more and more tending towards the end I wondered if I should buy it. At this price you think twice, of course, especially since it is much more expensive than the usual MFKs (but this is quite understandable). In many shops you pay more than 200, but 2 months ago I found an offer for about 150, where I definitely had to strike. Qualitatively, but also a fragrance that is worth over 200 euros, also thanks to great performance. In addition you get a noble carton with a noble familiar MFK bottle. This is a beautiful dark bottle that has a slightly violet touch in the light. In addition a noble golden cover and golden writing. Great.
The pyramid shows well in which direction the scent goes. The fragrance is floral with rose and violet, sweet and gentle with vanilla, benzoin and amber. In addition a not too violent Oud note, which provides rather in the background for an oriental Vibe. It doesn't sound very unusual, but it smells unique and pleasant during your own test.
From the first second you smell a stylish and elegant rose-violet mixture. He simply has this special vibe, which you don't find in the normal standard scents. For me a typical Kurkdjian, who doesn't play around with too many notes and has simply found a stylish harmonic combination here. Also the Siam-Benzoe, which also plays a big role in Grand Soir, provides a gentle touch. The oud is not too stinging or opulent and therefore it is more satin mood than oud.
A great fragrance development is not to be found here. Only the "base" lasts longer with amber and vanilla. It remains a very sweet smell in the last hours. Despite the sweetness a stylish companion that simply has a nice warming touch.
All in all for me a perfect outdoor scent for the cold season. Especially in wet cold or icy cold weather it convinces with a lot of warmth and a cuddly warming vibe. There will be extremely few people who will not like this fragrance at all. He just has that certain something. For everyday use, as a signature or in warm weather, however, this fragrance is too lush and heavy. In my opinion, this fragrance is perfect for intimate, cozy hours like dating, a cozy evening on the couch and all other adendliche/nightly activities. From Sexappeal there are better scents, but he has just something romantic and cuddly.
Of course, this world-class performance must also be mentioned. This belongs to the absolute Champions League of fragrances. Especially at the beginning the Sillage is very lush. For many occasions fast too much. For indoor occasions it is advisable to use sparingly. After 3-4 hours the Sillage becomes pleasant and stays well above very close. The durability is perfect with far 10 hours. One should have desire on the smell, since this remains extremely long.

In the statements he is often described as feminine or rather in a feminine direction. For me it is 100% unisex, because this fragrance is simply beautiful and I can not assign sex to it. Conservative people would perhaps see this more feminine. In today's scent world definitely unisex. In the pyramid there is also no note for me, which I see alone as a feminine note. The base may be a little sweeter, but it's within bounds.

All in all for me a masterpiece, which can be worn wonderfully in winter and will attract positive attention with most. Just because of this uniqueness. An enrichment for every fragrance collection. With this performance there is also no need for Extrait de Parfum, which is also available for even higher prices.

Solid fragrance for your first date
Somebody once described Hypnotic Poison as the perfect scent for an affair-opener, I would say this trophy should actually go to Oud Satin Mood. And not necessarily only for affairs, the message here is not so clear
The previous speakers have already said it: Eccentric experiments or inspiring developments shouldn't be expected here, my mother, who would probably get along great and almost blind with Terra when shopping for a fragrance, found it "beautiful", but also quite boring and not very creative, I think "too round" were her exact words
But so far everybody likes it, without exception, the first criterion of a good date scent, because something more daring undoubtedly seems more charismatic, but can also completely deter spontaneously.
So far nobody could smell big notes, except for the vanilla, around which everything is orchestrated or gives it a direction - deep, not squeaky, probably by the oud, which never gets through here. So maximum came "delicious vanilla", otherwise only mmmmh and oooohh.

But Oud Satin Mood is not a sultry panty dropper or that which is commonly understood as panty dropper. Also rather pleasant-beautiful-cuddly than erotic. And if it's erotic, it's not loud. Not at all shrill.

This pleasantly for itself smelling darkened sweetness does not come along also with slight overdosage with manslaughter silage. Anyway, on my skin the perfume has a pretty close radius, especially after the first half hour.
But with an extremely long shelf life. Just as 3 Weather Taffeta supposedly never lets wind, rain and sun bring it out of its coolness, Oud Satin Mood keeps pub smoke, rain and long nights undamaged It still smells after waking up and gets stuck in the pillows.

It's established itself now: When that smell comes out of my room, somebody in my flat shouts, "You got a date!"

UNISEX???
I received the scent with great anticipation. Admittedly, the first sprayer is already a real mace!! The scent is incredibly potent and oppressive, for me it is not at all in the same class as the other flattering scents of this label. For me, this fragrance does only one thing and that is harassing. I find the fragrance so penetrating and unsexy, as it is otherwise only with Coco Chanel or Sun the case. There's something in it that I don't like at all and besides that, in my eyes the scent is 100% a women's scent, although manufacturers and 2/3 of the users here say something different. For a few hours this cloud also shaves its surroundings penetratingly, but then it suddenly ends. My wife thinks the fragrance is great and also said, "that's a women's fragrance". Durability, she was also very disappointed, besides the outstanding Sillage. So nothing against role-playing, I wouldn't put on a skirt right now, but especially with scents you can play around with them. For me, the scent just has absolutely nothing masculine about it. I just don't wear fragrances that impress women just because they would wear it themselves, it has to be at least a little bit masculine. This one is too powdery rosy feminine, a clear No Go from me. You have to be a certain type of man for that, which I don't reflect in my eyes... Who likes such fragrances, however, gets a super potent ladykiller performance for a few hours

First appearances are deceptive
My first comment starts right away with a funny story.
I received the fragrance first as a small sample to accompany an order.
When the perfume arrived, the samples were first tested and then I got this little blue bottle in my eye: "Oud Satin Mood" The fragrance of which I have read and heard only positive things At that time a colleague was with me and we wanted to go to a party later on.
Since I am someone who puts on a fragrance almost every day and my colleague forgot to put on his fragrance that day, he asked me if he could try one of my fragrances Since I had just received a few samples to my order, my idea was that we try one of these fragrances to wear that evening.
But since I had never smelled any of the samples myself and had only heard about them from stories/reviews, I suggested that we first test the scents on our wrists before applying a fragrance that we didn't like at all.
No sooner said than done, my colleague and I sprayed a spray of OSM on our wrists... "Omg what is that because it smells terrible!", we said almost at the same time, my colleague and went into the bathroom to wash the smell off his wrist He came back:" Boy this stuff doesn't go off my wrist anymore.
Since then, the scent was actually dead to me, but I gave it another chance and let the smell linger on my wrist.
In the course of the evening I smelled his wrist and strangely enough the more often I smelled him the more I seemed to like him.
This showed me that you can't write directly to a perfume, just because you don't like the first impression.
In the meantime, some time has passed and the fragrance has become part of my collection and in my opinion, as well as some of the previous speakers, it is perfectly suited for cooler days, as the fragrance is very heavy and sweet.
I even got some compliments for him in the last few days, which of course made me very happy.
I hope my first contribution is not access and I could entertain or help someone with it :)

... ...gives you an idea of what heaven could smell like...

Roses over roses ... A single sprayer is enough and I feel surrounded by thousands and thousands of Damascus roses.
Oud Satin Mood gives you an idea of what it could smell like in heaven...

I bought my second fragrance from MFK last month for my birthday. I had heard, seen and read so much about this perfume that I just wanted to have it. I hadn't tested it yet, but from the descriptions, I thought Oud Satin Mood was wonderful - soft, gentle, flattering, but also intoxicating. Right now, for some reason, I like rose scents. I own some of Guerlain Aqua Allegoria, which I like to wear. They are all fresh, light, delicate with green and sometimes berry nuances - so ideal for the summer.
And Oud Satin Mood? Will it live up to my expectations?
I had been warned by several comments that the fragrance should be very intense and strong and should, so to speak, only be used in homeopathic doses, so that one does not disturb his/her environment too much. Of course I would not like that under any circumstances.
I assumed that this fragrance was only suitable for festive events such as gala evenings, premieres or glamorous balls. Since I don't attend the Vienna Opera Ball, these events would be extremely sparse, I thought - OSM would therefore probably be "eternally" in stock with me.
I therefore approach the allegedly great fragrance with the necessary respect. A timid sprayer on the right, one on the left, then I waited for the huge rose bomb, which would probably burst now and virtually sweep me away with its scent.
Was it a pipe burst?
Not at all. But neither is the explosion of scent that some people apparently feel at OSM. Okay, maybe my olfactory organ is not as sensitive as it used to be, I think. Let's see how my environment reacts A first then. It's June 9th, when I wear OSM for the first time, or perhaps I should say, when I'll be wearing it. A small group has gathered to celebrate my birthday with me. We meet in an Irish Pub in a Viennese suburb. It is warm enough to sit outside Of course I don't think about Oud Satin Mood all the time, which I hardly notice on myself - at most a touch, when I move my head. I have to accept and unwrap presents, there is chatting, eating and drinking Guinness.
But from time to time it comes to me, this allegedly so stunning scent. But no one seems to notice it but me. Nobody wonders what it smells so good, nobody inquires about the perfume, nobody pays any compliments. Hello? The dark, square bottle has a sophisticated and noble appearance. However, its weight makes it less suitable for carrying in a handbag. Due to several descriptions of the fragrance as very durable and strong, I would never have thought that I would have to spray it. I don't have to do that with Oud from the house of Kurkdjian either.

I should perhaps note that I bought the fragrance in a reputable perfumery and it was originally wrapped in cellophane when I got it.
Well, you can be wrong. It's not my sense of smell. There are two men and two women at our table. The fifth one has to stand because the Corona regulation only allows 4 persons at one table and the landlord refuses to bring another chair with the words "Zahl'n Se mir de Straf'?! Of course it was a bit uncomfortable, but the gentlemen took turns with the standing room.
And the scent itself? Apart from the fact that it's obviously not as intense and strong as I read in some of the comments, it's pretty much the opposite of the Guerlain AA rose scents in my collection. That is to say, not as light, delicate and fruity as the rose scents that are currently in fashion.
Francis Kurkdjian dares to swim against the current once again. While the perfumers of leading houses have apparently decided that roses today have to smell fresh, green and discreet, Kurkdjian has enjoyed creating an unconventional rose scent that is not restrained or even shamefully hidden, but that gives roses back their majesty, so to speak. With him, roses are - still or again - full of power and delicate, velvety, but pleasantly dry sweetness.
Oud Satin Mood has something unconventionally intoxicating. From the very first moment. Here you can see fully bloomed, big red roses, which are allowed to make an impression. Accompanied by delicate violets and a very soft, cuddly and woody oud, which, I feel, "holds everything together beautifully" and surrounds it with warmth and softness.
The fragrance is silky, soft, powdery and - especially in the base - noble wood. The nuances unite to a dignified, exquisite work of art. In this sense, OSM is more of a linear fragrance, which is present from the very beginning. And when I mentioned the "base" earlier, it doesn't mean the end of a fragrance journey, but the foundation that underlies all other fragrances. I suppose that this delicate woody note is due to the Siamese benzoin, the resin of the tropical styrax trees, which gives off a lovely scent reminiscent of vanilla and chocolate.
The composition is so successful and harmonious that I cannot tell where vanilla begins and amber ends. But do you have to?
I don't want to trace the violets, which remain small and discreet here, according to my feeling.
I would still not describe OSM as a gourmet fragrance. The rose is too powerful for that. Anyone who knows Damascus roses knows that they only bloom once a year, in early summer. But they exude a fragrance that can only be called beguiling.
Damascus roses are an ancient rose species from Asia Minor. Crusaders brought them to Europe over 600 years ago. I don't mention this to show how well I can google, but because the scent makes you feel that it is a very old cultivated plant - at least that's what it seems to me. For me, this rose scent has a certain oriental flair in its opulence. I can well imagine that healing effects have always been attributed to this wonderful scent. Above all, it should bring mental and physical relaxation.

I also feel that somehow when I wear the perfume. There is something pleasantly soothing about the fragrance. No, it's not a sleeping pill, but it takes away the stress, that's how it seems to me. It is a fragrance for after work - not for hectic working hours or sports. You have to be ready for this scent. Be ready to give him the peace he needs to unfold in this heady way. It is a fine, sensual fragrance. Sensual but not necessarily in the sense of passionate or seductive, rather heavenly. It makes you float.

It's not a faint scent. It has a size that doesn't suit everyone, but it's never intrusive. It does not suit every occasion because it is very elegant and striking.
People who like to stay in the background are unlikely to reach for this fragrance. But I'm using clichés here, because, as I mentioned, nobody noticed OSM on me. From this I conclude that you can't wear this scent only at big festivities. Provided your personality fits OSM.

This isn't an oud fragrance. It's mainly an amber-floral, prominent violet, floats with sweetness. Fall-winter, unisex, great performance.

Somehow Kurkdjian managed to add a crystallized effect to the rose-violet accord. The faint oud note keeps the vanilla from being too sweet.

Simply lovely rose notes with a hint of Laotian oud, followed up by the gentle benzoin and vanilla combo. I dig it.
