Around the campfire in a leather jacket
This is probably it, the leather scent of leather scents. Rarely have I had such a smoky and intense experience when testing a perfume.

Even though some people here say they can clearly detect the mandarin, I hardly get any mandarin here. I mainly get a really, really dark leather paired with smoky notes, like the scent that clings to you when you've been around a campfire the night before. Hence the title.

The only ways to wear it, in my opinion, would be by the fireplace in winter or at the Christmas market. I don't know when else you could wear it? In general, it's just too harsh for me and is designed for smoky leather. I miss the note that makes the whole thing round and balanced.

Nevertheless, it is really well made and fans of this style will get their money's worth.

This blind buy didn't hurt for once.
Normally you always hear that you should test such fragrances first. I totally agree with that. Nevertheless, I couldn't resist half a year ago and had to buy it because of a good offer.

I had already tested the Alexandra II and the Alexandria III and thought they were both really good. But not so good that I would buy them.

When the fragrance finally arrived after several weeks and a few logistical problems, I was surprised that I could smell it even before opening the familiar Xerjoff box. So I sniffed the bottle and, to be honest, had to get to grips with the fragrance first. It smelled a bit stale and actually a lot more so than its brothers.

To really test the fragrance, I sprayed some on the back of my hand. The first few minutes were very different to what I had expected. It had the very familiar Alexandria DNA, but still seemed much more grown-up and edgy. As it progressed, he finally picked me up. The light stable suddenly became creamy and enveloped the rose and apple. Something of the slightly animalic oud could still be felt.

That evening I went out for dinner and decided to wear it. I only used two sprays and the scent was still very present. It even sparked a nice conversation at the table about perfume, as it really stands out.

It really is very unusual, but although I haven't tried it, it should be tested beforehand because some people around me don't get on with this somewhat stale note. For those who do, it's worth every penny.

Delicious leather milk
My journey to Leather 6 began very unexpectedly. I received it as an enclosure to a bottle I had bought. I was familiar with Schwarzlose Berlin, but I hadn't tried any of their fragrances before.

I'm generally very enthusiastic about leather as a fragrance, so I was really excited to see what it had to offer. I sprayed it on straight away and realized that I had never smelled a fragrance like this before. I really like the way it plays with smoky leather notes paired with vanilla and milk.

Leather 6 (Fetish) really lives up to its old name. It is elegant, but still a little dirty, almost like the city of Berlin.

I realized during the day that it could become a favorite. Instead of the fragrance I had actually ordered, I wore it on the day it arrived. My surroundings also noticed the fragrance. I was asked three times that day what it was.

It wasn't until almost six months later that I got a good deal and I'm so happy that it's finally in my collection. It's great to use first, not too oppressive and still lasts a long time. Especially in the DD it becomes super creamy again without losing that smoky leather note. In this state, it almost has the characteristics of a gourmand.

Love at the Tenth Sniff???
Fortunately, I received Chimaera by Tiziana Terenzi as a bonus with a perfume I had searched for here on Parfumo. As usual, I sprayed once or twice on a test strip and took in the scent.

After 2-3 sniffs, I immediately noticed the sweet-citrusy note. At first, the scent didn’t blow me away. I set the test strip aside to focus on the perfume I had actually ordered. Chimaera seemed to be written off for the time being.

Sometimes I spray one of my samples in the evening while sitting in front of the TV to remind myself how certain scents smell. That day, I chose Chimaera.

The first seconds on my skin felt distinctly different from my memory. The warmth of my skin brought out the heart and base notes much better, and at that point, the scent would have already received an 8/10 from me. After another 10 minutes, I gradually recognized the complexity of this fragrance. I had never smelled such a balanced scent before. It perfectly balances sweetness, woods, fruits, flowers, and leathery oud notes. The scent is simply heavenly. Moreover, it lasts a perceived 12 hours.

It quickly became clear that I had to have this fragrance. It is now among my top 3 scents, so I can only recommend it. My surroundings perceive it differently. For completely inexperienced noses, it might be too intense. Additionally, many still have the image in their heads that men should wear fresh scents like Dior Sauvage or Chanel Bleu. Some found it too feminine. My girlfriend says it smells like incense sticks. :D
