Eau Sauvage. Cheap.
8.1/10 at 122 reviews. Sounds great. It's just stupid that it doesn't fit in with what I'm seeing

I mean, sure, it smells like Eau Sauvage. And I like Eau Sauvage. Very much so. But let's face it, guys. Putting Green is missing exactly the melting that makes up Eau Sauvage. Even after all the reformulations, this is still something special. A simple lemon water with herbs can make many...

This one smells as if the Dior formula had been cleared of everything supposedly superfluous. It's too bad that that's the class and elegance of the composition. What remains is a completely sharpened print from the original. Penetrating cutting. Without depth and soulless to it.

That's Eau Sauvage. Cheap. And by that I mean for once not cheap, but really cheap. Because for this completely sterile work of art I find even the price called still too much

Love in times of so lala
My heart's dancing. And not just with Mia, but on days like these. I was recently delighted with a treasure from my circle of friends. The rescued bottle is dusty and the rest of the contents are clear, but that doesn't harm my joy. The juice is still top preserved and so I can celebrate this best of all Joops today again really!

Back then it wasn't really love at first sight. At the end of the 90s I possessed him and carried him from time to time. But I learned to really appreciate him only with time. It was almost too late. Dancing nights, wild parties, everything he's been through, Adam. And then he was hired. In a time long before Parfumo, without warning, in order to be able to build up if necessary still another Hamstervorrat. Just leave from one day to the next.

Why, I can't understand. I still find him very attractive from today's point of view. The slightly mined, fruity opening with citrus is sweet-fresh and absolutely contemporary. The flowery-woody heart and the spicy-soft finish anyway. And this ethereal green tomato leaf floats over the entire course, rounding off the fragrance and making it unique. So goes unique, dear friends. That's love in times of so lala!

Even if the competition at that time e.g. from Davidoff, Sander, but also from the same house, was certainly a little louder, the performance is excellent by today's standards. Although I didn't exactly apply it lavishly today, I was asked about it twice in the office - that doesn't happen too often. So I don't seem to be alone with my positive perception.

So I can only repeat the call from my statement: Come back, Adam. Everything is forgiven and forgotten! Until then I will enjoy my remaining bottle, which will hopefully make my heart dance quite often

An exhausting lover
One week with Green Lover and I'm not really smarter.

The first test surprised me and left me somewhat perplexed. Many more tests have not changed that. I must make it quite clear: Lempica's newcomer is a strange fellow.

At the beginning the alcoholic base and the juniper create a very short impression of gin. In practice, however, this doesn't really play a role, since vanilla from the base comes through almost immediately and takes on the leading role from then on. Mint and tangerine are also allowed. In the core, however, it remains a very vanilla-heavy fragrance, which is only slightly seasoned and refreshed by the other components. At least in the first half. At the latest, when the mint starts its retreat, the smell becomes clearly too sweet to me.

So that's where we're at, strange. What I smell doesn't match the name, the bottle or the packaging. From the outside, everything points to something refreshing. It's not. Not at all. Not at all. I would also strongly doubt the categorisation as men's fragrance. What I perceive is clearly unisex and I would even bet that it smells better on ladies.

This leading triad of vanilla, mint and mandarin seems quite natural to me, but also very unusual. I don't know anything comparable and at the same time I feel reminded of something. That also belongs in the strange category. Depending on my mood and daily form I feel Green Lover from pleasant to special, unusual, pompous to unpleasant and sometimes annoying. In my humble opinion it is therefore neither a blind buy candidate, nor a grab & go, nor an easy-to-wear fragrance.

Vanilla fans who like it a little more special might want to give it a try. Creativity and quality cannot be denied to the fragrance. But for me personally, Lempicka's newcomer is simply too exhausting

From Hero to Zero
In the beginning like this: "Somehow full of fresh, so nice."

An hour later, more like, "Ey Alder, don't get on my nerves!"

Or to put it another way: It starts off quite pleasantly, sweetly fresh with an exotic fruitiness. Above (or below) this is a synthetic sea noise - all together it's quite artificial, but quite pleasing.

An hour later, nothing's changed. It still smells the same, only weaker. The tropical fruit mix is still in the saltwater aquarium, but has developed an unbearable, cheap nerve factor over time. I want to peel my skin.

Fortunately, the durability was then on my side and therefore it did not come to the extreme. After another two hours the spook fortunately came to an end.

If you think that Voyage smells cheap, you are welcome to test it against this one and then revise your opinion. Next!

Yes
Yein is often used as a cross between a word and a middle way between Yes and No. Either because both fit or because both don't fit. Personally, I mean: If the decision does not justify a clear 'yes', it must automatically be much closer to a 'no'. Even the word Yein alone consists of 1/4 Yes and 3/4 No.

The Essence is such a yes, because only the first quarter can convince me. Fresh fruit is the start, with a nice spice. Fruit with lavender and violet leaf really works very well here. This has something of a nosecatcher that can be carried away in the drugstore to a quick yes - just for the price called. The remaining three quarters will then no longer be worth mentioning. I would describe it linear and generic, almost deodorant. No. Even Fierce, on whom my heart is not really attached, has much more to offer. Or to stay in the drugstore segment: Clear Day by Aigner is similarly structured and much more balanced for my nose.

To put it another way: The Essence also doesn't really score in terms of shelf life. After 3-4 hours there is only a little bit of the aforementioned deodorant left. I find the bottle very attractive and also very practical and handy. The sprayer, on the other hand, clearly reflects the low price.

All in all, this is not a convincing overall package for me. Maybe not quite the no, but certainly not a clear yes. Yep.
