Not a Gourmand for Me
I love gourmands, I love almond and delicious scents in general. That's why I had Girl of Now on my list for quite some time. Since it's not too expensive, it even ended up in my cart as a blind buy at one point. Ultimately, though, I was too stingy, ordered a larger bottle, and eagerly awaited its arrival.
But somehow I was disappointed. I expect something different from gourmand scents. Something more edible. This fragrance strikes me as primarily floral. I don't expect to pick out pear and mandarin just yet, as I still have too little practice. But I usually can recognize almond. Not here at all.
Also, the name doesn't fit the scent for me; it's too heavy, too loud. And unfortunately, it's just not for me. What a shame.

Pina Colada
I stumbled upon the bottle by chance, and its design caught my attention. The fragrance pyramid also sounded interesting, so I sought a sample from a nice perfumery.
While I waited, I naturally browsed the internet to see where I could get the scent if I really wanted it, as that is not so easy. I am now also receiving newsletters from an Italian online perfumery :-) But you probably know that.
Now to the scent: What was written in the statements is true. This fragrance smells like Pina Colada. However, for me, the pineapple takes center stage and remains. The other notes are (still) not clear to me. I can only describe the overall impression. Although the pineapple dominates for me, the scent is sweet-creamy, less fresh-fruity. Now, with the autumn temperatures, it indeed evokes feelings of vacation and the beach.
My main issue with this fragrance is somehow the consistency. On my wrist, a slight oily film formed, which I then wiped away because it didn’t absorb. Even afterward, the scent was still clearly noticeable to those around me. Was it the sample? The fragrance was so strong that I fear I might get a headache at 30°C on the beach. It was too much, too intense. Ultimately, I washed it off. But even then, the smell was still clearly perceptible. Now finally in a pleasant, fresh dose.
The silicone strap of my watch seems to have taken a hit as well, because today - sniffing at the watch - I am writing this review: sweet pineapple, Caribbean feeling, delicious. I will keep this scent in mind, but I think I can unsubscribe from the Italian newsletter.
And probably my watch needs a new strap.

Pleasant Autumn Cheapie
It says vanilla on the label, and you definitely get that. Soft, creamy, and for me also slightly floral or rather powdery? At first, it reminds me of Cuir Beluga, but in direct comparison, it doesn't even come close to Guerlain's vanilla. The advantage: You can afford it without a guilty conscience.
The bottle is quite simple and unremarkable, and you have to be a bit careful when spraying. A subtle mist can be achieved differently.
I can't say much about the sillage, as I'm sitting alone in my little room, alternating sniffing on my left and right wrist.
The scent is really nice, you can't go wrong with it, but it's also nothing special. Ultimately, it will probably be used for layering, as I find it a bit boring on its own.
