Beach bar in the evening
I think everyone knows those moments: One is jetted with the boys or the beloved into the next palm paradise of the choice, in order to simply dangle the batteries again and relax nicely. You spend the day in the scorching sun with this and that - lazing, eating, sunbathing, mountaineering - and in the evening everyone comes back and is frolicsome and tired.

You take the obligatory shower and get ready, as you have arranged to chill out at the beach bar. When you leave the hotel with your shirt open, the warm evening air beats against you. You are young, tanned and deeply relaxed - you breathe in tieeeeef and are carefree and happy.

DA-FÜR this fragrance has been made for that evening-yet-at-the-sea-bar moment on vacation.

So what's in store for you now? Well, unfortunately I still haven't gotten very good in the fragrance descriptions. Of course I could pray down the fragrance pyramid from above, but you can all read it yourself :)

First of all, it should be noted that, in my opinion, a maximum two-phase course can be detected. The fragrance is therefore relatively constant. At the beginning you are struck by a wonderful freshness in which the lemon is definitely there, but in any case does not play the first violin. It's like a very fresh breeze, but I simply don't like the name aquatic because the water or sea is not the decisive factor. Instead I have read on a homepage to this smell once the designation "air tones" and I must say, that meets it almost perfectly. A very fresh breeze that comes from a mountain lake, but still has a slightly sweet note.

"How freshly showered" is a very good idea, especially if everyone can imagine something under it :) For me, however, it is much more noble and full-fledged than a normal Shower-The-Shampoo.

As already described, I perceive the scent rather as two-phase, which means that I cannot really recognize the indicated heart tones like ginger and apple. After about 3 hours the freshness is still there, but it has a very pleasant male note with the musk and cedar wood added. For me as a whole it's a very round thing and meanwhile it belongs to my absolute favourite summer perfumes.

The Sillage is good and sufficient for the first 4 to 5 hours, but with the durability one must unfortunately make slight compromises. I don't think it's more than seven hours. But if you dose generously enough, it should probably be enough to get you back in bed.

So if you know these holiday moments and love this feeling of freshness, I can really recommend this fragrance to you ...

The shirt hanging in the hallway...
Aventus by Creed is also such a fragrance that you somehow inevitably come across when looking for good men's perfumes. Again, the ratings here were just so great that I had to find a perfumery that provided it for testing. When the time came and I could finally try it, however, a certain disillusionment arose:

Yeah, I can see why so many people like him, but he's just too much for me. He has something harsh and masculine about him, which I love about perfumes, but how can I say he just "gets in my face too much", pardon my French. You want to smell good as a man, but you don't want to kill it with your scent. So in the sense that the environment still gets air when you're around. In this respect, tastes differ, whether you only want to be perceived when you are close to your body, whether the scent announces you when you meet someone, so to speak, and puts your business card in their hand, or whether you pull a whole cloud of scent behind you. If one wanted to wear it then, it would be to my taste in any case economical to dose. Because I don't want to say that it's bad, only you have to think about whether you want to belong to category A B or C. And if you're not needy, you could easily slip into category C involuntarily.

I don't even know how it happened that I ordered a bottle of Insurrection, although I wasn't so convinced about Aventus. But when it comes to perfumes, it's at least as important that you like to be smelled by your environment as it is that you like to smell yourself. Since I knew that Aventus is also very popular in the ladies' world and my repertoire is not yet too huge (and my purse is small), I wanted a perfume that had a little more penetrating power and could also make its way through the alcohol haze of the discount fog during the next drink. Without being too intrusive, of course, as already described :)

That's exactly what I found in this perfume. I find it a slightly lighter version of Aventus. But easily it doesn't hit so well, it's somehow different, a bit softer, but still has a bitter note. But there were already enough fragrance descriptions and others can do that much better than me anyway. But I would like to reiterate the Sillage and durability and have a little anecdote about it:

I had applied the scent a while ago with two or three splashes on my neck and especially on my shirt. After wearing this shirt once, I put it in my hallway. And for the next 5 to 6 days, every time I walked by, I got this mad base note in my nose. Sillage and durability is really phenomenal, which brings us back to economical dosing for the protection of the environment!

In any case, I would like to point out once again that this fragrance really only unfolds its full power after a few hours. I can't do that much with the top note, but this base has something animal and wild, but at the same time masculine and well-groomed. So if it's time for clubbing on Friday, it's best to diesel in all your clothes on Wednesday evening :D

Like a junkie running in his ordeal after the high of his first shot forever, I am in search of the fragrance. The fragrance that expresses for me the absolute masculinity, that is at the same time elegant and well-groomed but also masculine, the fragrance that silences all my critics and makes all women soft knees.

Like the junkie, I'll probably never find him, but I have to say, this base comes very close!

L'Homme - Is that what a man smells like?
Since all the comments here are overflowing with the positive evaluations, I thought I would really have to try it or... yes, we will. Well, you all know how it is with blind buying - dangerous business! Now I've been sitting here for 20 minutes smelling my wrist and wondering what everyone thinks is so great about this perfume. Fortunately, I had only ordered one bottling from the souk and since this scent is not very expensive, it is bearable.

Strictly speaking, I should have been suspicious about the description and the word "powdery". If someone like me doesn't know how powdery it smells, it's like Prada's L'Homme. It's already crazy with scents. You can see a beautiful picture in your mind again and again, a good song hangs in your ears for hours. But you can't reconstruct a smell in your head. Once you smell it, the synapses in the brain fire with full power and a moment later there is complete silence. You have to sniff it again and the moment you do, you just like what you smell or not. After the first thought, if you like it, the second thought comes immediately, what does this smell remind me of? Even after the 30th smell I can't connect it with anything, but the first thing I would really think of is the powder can of an old lady. At least the way I would imagine it - so far I haven't often sniffed powder cans from old ladies, strictly speaking never. But my first association is the make-up table of a medium mature lady - maybe also make-up wipes, or some lip gloss with chewing gum taste.

In any case, I find him to be very sweet and - now the important part is coming - not male at all. After all, he is called "the man", if my limited knowledge of French does not deceive me now. As a man you don't have to smell like a lumberjack who washes his face and armpits in a colossal bowl of water and smells like nature and forest. But something slightly bitter always belongs to me with a fragrance for men, musk definitely. In the description roses, violets and irises are mentioned as fragrances. Do you want to smell like a flower meadow as a man? Well, at least I don't - I want to smell so masculine that the ground trembles when I walk over it and wolves and brown bears tear out when I approach (Fun :D :D).

Additionally the description says FRESH-powdery and apparently I have another idea of "fresh". Fresh for me always has something to do with cold and I don't find that at all here, on the contrary the scent is extremely warm. So warm you'd feel lulled in. I can understand the description "clean man" and "office fragrance" to a certain extent, but I must say that for me every freshly cleaned car and every freshly washed shirt smells much better.

But maybe it has something to do with age. I am not 17 anymore, but I would still describe myself as (still) young. With age some preferences change, like eating raw cheese in the evening in the company of friends and schnabulating red wine (I hate red wine).

Be that as it may, this is only a warning to others, like myself, who are looking for a masculine scent and are about to blindly buy it after the outstanding ratings. I don't think he smells male at all. I don't know if I would go so far as to call him female, but at least I don't want to smell like a man. This fragrance is simply too sweet for me and doesn't exactly give the feeling of being rolled out of the drum. More out of the powder can :D

I'm gonna miss you
I love this perfume. Since it is so cheap, it is simply my all-round carefree EdT, which you could always hang up quickly if you left the house for a few more hours and certainly did nothing wrong. I'd say 5 hours' shelf life.

With this fragrance I have so far been showered with compliments from the ladies of creation, who just seem to love it. It's very similar to Fierce, that's true, but Fierce seems more like an ice ray to me, while Essence is much fuller to me.

Unfortunately, I recently heard that it is probably no longer produced, so I have now stocked up again with a few bottles. And that also caused me to leave a short farewell here. For me as a student who likes fragrances, it was always a cheap way to smell good. Too bad you're going to Essence. :(
