"Montauk" - the end of everything, or the beginning of bliss
During my Sturm und Drang period, New York was my chosen home.
After my studies at the university in Germany, I was magically drawn to New York to study market sciences there.
The path there was very rocky, costing me a lot of energy and financial strength. Finally, I managed to secure a study place at the State University of New York - Brockport. During this time, I got to know and love this breathtaking, multifaceted, and never-sleeping city.
That’s why I am biased towards the brand Bond No.9, as it has made it its mission to ensure that each fragrance represents a specific location in Downtown, Midtown, or Uptown, honoring each New York neighborhood with its own scent.
Of course, not every fragrance is creatively designed to the end, but that depends on the economic policies of the perfume house. Not to mention the pricing.
But one must not scorn part of the flankers, such as Montauk by Bond No.9.

In my opinion, Montauk is a truly wonderful creation.
The perfume reflects exactly what makes the place special.
Montauk, a picturesque little fishing village, is referred to by locals as "The End" - that is, the end of Long Island - and is located at the easternmost tip of the island. The area is known for its magnificent beaches and rugged coastal landscapes and is considered a popular weekend getaway for New Yorkers.
Montauk is not only known as a water sports area but also as an excellent spot for anglers and fishermen.
I had the pleasure of visiting this place several times during my time studying in New York with my good friend Greg from university.
Greg was an enthusiastic nature lover and an avid fisherman, as he was in the book. The scent evokes exactly those fresh, fruity, and woody accords that linger in the air there. A wonderful interplay of a slightly sweet, synthetic accent that completes the perfume.
Whenever I smell this wonderful creation today, I am transported back to that time and begin to indulge in memories.
A certain longing for this magnificent, dreamy place arises within me, but also a certain bliss that I was able to visit Montauk.

"Hamptons" - like white sails of small boats shining on the blue water while the summer sun laughs above.
The brand Bond No.9 is not particularly highly regarded by many connoisseurs of niche perfumes within the perfume community.
The reason for this is the business policy of the perfume house; when 10 to 15 new fragrances are launched each year, it becomes difficult to maintain high standards. Inevitably, mediocre perfumes are also thrown onto the market.
But not all are bad, and there are indeed good scents from the creative team around Laurice Rahmé. Each fragrance creation represents a specific location in Downtown, Midtown, or Uptown, and honoring each New York neighborhood with its own scent is an excellent idea.
From an aesthetic point of view, the bottle has a very high recognition value, although taste-wise, differentiation is also necessary here.
Personally, I really like these stars; especially due to the different designs, they almost have a collector's value for lovers of the city of New York.

Like myself, I belong to the lovers of this vibrant and multifaceted city.
During my Sturm und Drang period, New York was my chosen home.
After studying at the university in Germany, I was magically drawn to New York to study market sciences there.
The journey there was very rocky, costing me a lot of energy and financial strength. Finally, I managed to secure a study place at the State University of New York - Brockport.
In this phase of my life, I was able to take away many beautiful memories of this city.
That’s why a large part of this flacon holds a very special, sentimental value for me, like this one, Hamptons by Bond No.9.

If it hadn't been for this Hamptons.
Hamptons is located on the enchanting coastline of Long Island and attracts numerous visitors to its fine sandy beaches on the weekends.
Behind the dunes, you discover well-kept villas with white wooden cladding, and relaxed people greet you as they walk their dogs by the sea in the morning.
My friends from university and I often went there on weekends to recharge our batteries.
Unfortunately, the drive along Highway NY-17-W was very long, but the 8-hour journey was always worth it.

Summer, sun, and the sea-the fresh, aquatic Hamptons by Bond No.9 with bergamot and lime blossom in the top notes, jasmine and magnolia in the heart notes, and amber and sandalwood in the base notes perfectly reflects what makes this beautiful spot on earth so special. The perfume Hamptons rightly carries its name, as it inevitably evokes associations with the view over the Atlantic Ocean that washes over the Hamptons at the tip of Long Island. White sails of small boats shine on the blue water while the summer sun laughs above.

All these wonderful memories are awakened in me when I sniff this fragrance today.

"Sutton Place" where I first met Jessica B. - or the end of a great love
The brand Bond No.9 New York is not particularly highly regarded by many connoisseurs of niche perfumes within the perfume community.
The reason for this is the commercial orientation of the perfume house.
When 10 to 15 new fragrances are launched on the market each year, it becomes quite difficult to maintain high standards. Inevitably, mediocre perfumes are also released, which still carry their proud price.
On the other hand, one should not scorn the brand for its business practices,
as you can certainly discover some very interesting and successful creations.
The idea of dedicating perfumes to such an interesting and multifaceted city is excellent in itself. Initially, the creative team led by Laurice Rahmé set out to ensure that each fragrance represents a specific location in Downtown, Midtown, or Uptown, honoring each New York neighborhood with its own scent.
From an aesthetic standpoint, the bottle has a very high recognition value, but this is debatable; some like it, while others find its appearance rather kitschy.

Unfortunately, I must confess my love for this vibrant city and for some of the flacons from this brand.
For me personally, a large part of these flacons holds a very special, sentimental value.
During my Sturm und Drang period, New York was considered my chosen home.
After my studies at the university in Germany, I was drawn magically to New York to study market sciences there.
The journey was very rocky, costing me a lot of energy and financial strength. Finally, I managed to secure a study place at the State University of New York - Brockport.

Mmmh Sutton Place, I remember, was such a special place for me.
Almost daily, I passed by this wonderful spot on my way to university from my apartment. On the way back, I often stopped here to enjoy the tranquility.
The fragrance Sutton Place by Bond No.9 is meant to represent the street and the eponymous small neighborhood of an exclusive residential area in Manhattan, which it indeed embodies.
The scent, with its freshness and spiciness, reflects Sutton Place as a small oasis of well-being in the midst of New York, with two public parks.
Hidden in a small area, both parks offer plenty of fresh air.
With some beautifully planted trees and adorned with comfortable benches, it is a soothing break during the day.
An oasis in a bustling world and a place to relax. Unassuming and easily overlooked, it is home to people who need a break. Harried individuals with stressful workdays and others seeking a quiet place to think, hence everyone loves to be here.
This soothing calm and sense of security that Sutton Place radiates was often the meeting point for my great love Jessica, who worked nearby at Sutton Square. After work, Jessica regularly went to the park to chill.
One day, I sat down on a sunny day next to her on the bench, and we started talking. We talked for a long time into the evening and made plans to meet the next day. Thus, everything took its course, and we met daily until she moved in with me after 5 months.
Unfortunately, after 14 months, our paths parted.
Jessica had a very good job opportunity in Washington in the executive level of a nominated company that she could not refuse, and I could not drop out of my studies here.
Yes, yes, that's how life goes; we maintained contact for a few months longer, but over the course of everyday life, the contact slowly faded.
During my study time in New York, I continued to visit Sutton Place to enjoy the peace there. But also in the hope of meeting Jessica again.

Whenever I smell Sutton Place by Bond No.9 today, memories come flooding back.
The freshness and spiciness, as well as the fruity, slightly woody sillage, make me think back to this wonderful oasis.
With the beautiful trees and their blossoms and the wonderful moments I spent with Jessica and how everything began at Sutton Place.
