Lira Cousine 3. Grades
I was so curious about the scent that is supposed to be similar to my beloved Lira. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. Marketed as a close relative to Lira, I can at most detect a resemblance to a distant cousin.
The top note starts extremely citrusy and strongly alcoholic. Unfortunately, I immediately associate it with an unpleasant lemon-scented bathroom cleaner. After 15 minutes, the strong citrus note softened, but it is by no means comparable to Lira. The lemons here remind me more of a limoncello cream. Only hours later in the dry down do you recognize a similarity to Lira. The base note becomes noticeably softer and creamier.
Conclusion: Would I replace Lira with Devotion? Absolutely not. Lira leans more towards lemon pastries, with an emphasis on pastries.
Devotion goes in the direction of limoncello cream in summer. Much zestier and fresher.
