Underestimated
Actually, I was at Douglas because I wanted to get the SUN Edt again.
Then the friendly saleswoman asked me if I knew the EDP and happily handed me the 2021 version.
I sniffed it and nooooo... Thanks, I'll stick with the EDT.
When the saleswoman was gone, I let my gaze wander a bit and reached for the bottle next to the one I had just rejected and oooohhhhh...
What a beautiful, bright, fresh orange without any bitter citrus notes.
It was love at first spray.
It came home with me.
In fact, it smells to me like an orange juice spritzer with a very, very subtle sweetness. Primarily, it is fresh for me.
I can't really smell any floral notes here; the flowers are completely hiding, except maybe for a hint of daffodil.
What it is not, in my opinion, is generic; I haven't smelled anything similar so far.
The sillage is also good, but it has the flaw that all Jil Sander fragrances have had for me so far... The longevity is moderate.
However, for the price, you can spray it on without a guilty conscience more often.
The bottle is... Yes. So if someone values a beautiful bottle, they won't be satisfied here; it is simple and reminds me of the packaging of a sunscreen. This might also be intentional due to the name, but sunscreen bottles are usually not particularly exciting.

Musc Diamant without Sugar
Right from the first spray, I was reminded of another fragrance:
La Nuit Musc Diamant from the Tresor line.
I probably shouldn't have been surprised given the scent notes... But I was anyway.
The first thing I notice right after spraying is the grapefruit. As is often the case with citrus notes, it stands out particularly on my skin.
After about 10 minutes, the citrus mingles with a rather fruity raspberry.
I don't perceive the pepper at all at first.
After about half an hour, the scent becomes a bit more robust. My suspicion is that this is due to the hawthorn, and possibly the pepper is also making its presence known, which I didn't notice before.
In the drydown, I mainly get vanilla and musk, and the peony remains with me until the end.
The scent lasts about 6-7 hours and was, although very subtle, still noticeable even after showering.
After about 3 hours, it becomes quite close to the skin, and you won't startle the entire office upon entering with it.
The bottle is simple, but in my opinion, it suits this perfume.
I consider the price-performance ratio for this fragrance to be very good; it lasts just as long as many designer fragrances, and a gentle progression of the notes is recognizable.
For those looking for an affordable alternative to Musc Diamant and, like me, cannot tolerate the sugary note that seems to underlie the entire La Nuit Tresor line, I can recommend this fragrance.
Fortunately, this scent lacks the cotton candy soda note.
Conclusion: I expected something different, but it's really not bad.

My Favorite
I came across this fragrance due to a YouTube video and decided to order it blindly at the low price.
The kitschy packaging made me open the scent with a bit of skepticism.
The bottle didn't help either; in my eyes, it looks tacky and cheap.
The spray head resembles the water spray bottle I use to let the cats know that scratching the couch is not welcome. There’s no fine mist to speak of.
And then I smelled the fragrance... and it was all over for me. I forgot the packaging and the tacky bottle. The scent swept me away. And even today, a year later, that’s still the case.
My first association was this: as a child, we were allowed to rent ponies in Holland every summer for two weeks, and for those two weeks, they were like our own. To protect the beloved ponies from flies, we had a fly spray specially for horses. And I loved the smell of that spray so much that I even sprayed it on myself.
This perfume reminds me 1:1 of that.
The first moment is a blend of soft coconut and vanilla, with the ylang-ylang gently resonating underneath. The top note lasts about 30 minutes for me, then I also notice the hits that seemingly, along with the musk, ensure that it doesn’t become an overly sweet fizzy scent like the ones I’ve smelled so often lately.
The musk becomes noticeable as the fragrance develops, adding a very slight creaminess.
The plum remains hidden from me. Perhaps it resonates somewhere in the overall scent, but it’s not distinctly perceivable.
For me, it’s a moderately sweet, pleasantly creamy fragrance where the individual scent components weave together beautifully.
The sillage is good, the longevity on my skin is okay, about 3-5 hours, but for the price, it’s really fine.
With even better performance, my scent for life.
