Malle The Night on a diet
To me, Portrait Of A Lady takes a lot from The Night. It’s just a ”skinnier” version of it considering POAL doesn’t have the oriental/animalic touch.
POAL gives a feeling of damp ground and a picture perfect masculine rose. It’s not the synthetic/irritating type of rose - in fact, it’s very airy and pleasant.
Portrait Of A Lady shall be thrown on with a black suit!

Monsterous Promise
First and foremost, this is the strongest perfume that I have and also the strongest perfume that I’ve ever tried. It’s the type of scent that you will do one spritz of and it will instantly feel incredibly strong. Like if that wasn’t enough, I can confirm that it will only get stronger and stronger as it dries down. Sometimes I feel that I can borderline taste the scent and start coughing just because of how nuclear it is.
Besides it being very strong, there must be a reason I keep it, right. I think the scent is very unique. It’s undeniably super dry, dusty and sharp but somehow the cypriol, rose and apple combo does it for me.
To me, Promise is a strange scent and I appreciate it for how mysterious it makes me feel as I wear it. In addition, I think ”Promise” is a beautiful name for a perfume.
Promise is kind of the odd sheep in the Desert Gems while The Night, The Moon and Dawn all share similar facets.

OG Reflection Man made rooty/earthy
To be fair it took me many years to fall for Amouage from the moment that I started to get into perfumes and perfumery in general. Amouage just felt very different and almost unusual to what I had been used to. Eventually something clicked and I started to dig many Amouage scents, with the Reflection DNA being one that I particularly like.
Reflection 45 to me, is quite similar to its sibling Reflection Man. However… Reflection 45 comes with an added rootiness/earthiness from Orris and an ”eucalyptic” almost ”steam sauna like feeling” from fresh Omani Frankincense.
I find this scent very gentlemanly & calming and it could well be even better than OG Reflection Man.

Old Money Gentleman’s scent
Love at first sniff. This is Creed at its best. Effortless French fresh perfumery.
This is very mature smelling and I couldn’t imagine just any youth wearing this. The fresh cut grass, peppery + lemon-ish opening to me just feels so gentlemanly. Super inoffensive and classy. For whatever reason it also happens to be one of my most complimented scents. Apparently it smells great on me.
Eventually I think ”Royal Oud” could’ve been named ”Royal Cedar” instead. I think this has nothing to do with oud.

Vintage soap bar
This scent took a while to digest for me. I started with getting a miniature and it wasn’t until a year went by that I slowly fell in love with it and decided to get a bottle. I just couldn’t leave the offer on the table.
To the scent: For whatever reason, the first thing that comes to my mind is one of those soap bars that you would find at an old lady’s bathroom. It doesn’t smell like soap as in liquid form, rather a high quality vintage soap bar from a time when I wasn’t born.
In addition, there’s a subtle and smooth woodiness and spiciness to the scent. Very elegant and suitable for formal events in my opinion!
