Who still remembers the film of the same name by Stephen Frears with the icy Glenn Close and the smirking John Malkovich in the lead roles?
France in the age of Rococo. The nobility seeks the meaning and purpose of their existence in scheming, amusing, and seducing:
The Marquise de Merteuil proposes to the gallant Vicomte de Valmont to deflower the bride Cécile de Volanges (Uma Thurman) of her former lover before the wedding night. And for the seduction of the married, virtuous Marie de Tourvel (Michelle Pfeiffer), she even promises him a night of love.
Behind the cool, mask-like facade, the main characters skillfully suppress their emotions, but it crackles and simmers wonderfully beneath the thick makeup...
The film is amusing, elegant, and extravagant, and it definitely ranks among my favorite films.

You can imagine that I was very curious about a fragrance of this name!

Lush, juicy-sweet, intoxicating: No question, this fragrance positively brims with overripe plums! Peach, cinnamon, and Damask roses round off this sumptuous bouquet in a sensual way.

Although L.D. skillfully reflects a decadent era (or perhaps precisely because of it), rustling gowns can still smell like this today.
I am certainly not a fan of gender separation, but I would gladly leave this sultry fragrance, declared as unisex, to the female gender without a fight.
It simply suits the ripe plums better ;-)

Karlovy Vary, Hotel Pupp, around 10 PM I enter the casino, the chandeliers sparkle, thick carpets muffle my steps. My tuxedo fits like a glove, Her Majesty can be satisfied. All eyes are on me, I can feel them at my back...

For those who want to experience this dream, I heartily recommend "Lui." Powerful, unconventional, challenging, and elegant, this animalistic men's fragrance unfolds. "Lui" doesn’t waste time, it gets straight to the point: an untamed wave of spices sweeps you away with the first spray! Amber and smoky sandalwood shape the further development of the scent, smooth, unrestrained, proud, and distinctly masculine (although it would also suit a femme fatale well...).

This fragrance is clearly divisive: Some will love it, others will hate it. "Lui" requires courage, although it does not belong to the extremely intrusive faction; it has too much class for that.

Enough words, I sniff again at my wrist.
... With one glance, I have assessed the situation: There isn’t much happening at the roulette table yet, the bartender is looking over at me, he is already stirring my martini...

The fragrance that carries the name of this region begins with a classically spicy citrus bergamot note and gradually develops into a peppery forest scent.

For me, it ideally represents the quintessential high-quality office fragrance. Not in the least bit intrusive, finely balanced, of high quality, in short: You can use it, but you don’t have to.

This fragrance has already been aptly described several times here, so I can limit myself to sharing my enthusiasm!
Powerful leather note!! As it presents itself soft and rounded, I think rather of light (wild) leather.
On the skin, it smells sexy (without any pornographic aggression) and radiates a certain sovereignty.
At ALZD, someone brought up the scent of gauze bandages, and even though that may sound rather off-putting, I can also find that in it.
I recommend a sniff to all noses that can appreciate a masculine robust leather! However, flower children are hereby explicitly warned ;-)

The contradictory comments here about this fragrance have made me very curious, and so I included a vial of "Tirrenico" in my last sample order.
Did you really smell the same fragrance? Or did someone forget to wash their hands after eating? grin

First of all, I can say that this scent is very special without being extreme. My first impression is: shoe polish and ice-cold herbal schnapps. No, it's not shoe polish, but rather waterproofing spray! I find the Pernod-anise note very pronounced. After the top notes fade, the fragrance takes on a somewhat weightless balsamic quality.
As for the aquatic notes, I can detect a certain coolness that is hard for me to identify. Perhaps a hint of menthol?
I like this scent, even though it’s not for me. I would love to smell it on someone else...
