Great opener, but fleeting scent
Extraordinarily light pear and lime fresh opening! Like biting into a perfectly ripe pear in the summer sun. As the top notes fade out, floral fades into focus. The jasmine intertwines with the pear, with a little bit of rose and musk backing them.

Not particularly good sillage. I imagine I’d have to spray at least four times to get any kind of projection beyond my skin.

The opening is memorable, but the dry down is one of many pleasantly vague un-memorable white florals.

I have other white florals (Dior’s J’adore, Mugler’s Alien) that I’d prefer to wear.

A brutal opening ruins an otherwise delicate powdery floral
First impressions are extremely floral, rose? Almost headache inducing. The top notes might be gone in this old spray sample, honestly.

Overwhelmingly rose and vanilla. Maybe a faint violet and musk? This feels like a straightforward scent, not particularly complicated.

As the top notes fade, it remains almost, but not quite, headache inducing. The top notes might be gone in this older sample spray, honestly.

The dry down is better, fading into a nice violet, rose and powdery scent.

It’s fine, but I strongly dislike the opener, so I would not wear it.

Unbelievable Value, Beautiful Floral Ginger Tea Scent.
August 2025 - If you’re also heartbroken that this is discontinued, Carolina Herrera 212 Men EDT is like an intense version! It has more longevity and highlights everything I loved about Ginger Lily!

Original Review:

A burst of white tea, then an undercurrent of oranges, with ginger quickly rising.

It sits lightly on the skin, unobtrusive while still remaining ginger and floral. The scent is light, like you're breathing in a cup of white tea.

Absolute steal of a value. I bought a small 1.7 oz bottle for $18.26 USD, barely more than the price of two 1.5 ml sample vials of a fragrance. Instead of two samples, I now have a lovely perfume bottle which I can use for years.

In the US, most department stores like Macy's will carry the White Tea line. If you like it, just buy a bottle or two. At these prices, it's hard to see why you'd miss an opportunity to add a beautiful daily wear fragrance to your collection.

After about 45 minutes, the fragrance still has about the same strength and scent as it did at 10/15 minutes.

This is a good fragrance for reading a book and drinking tea.

This is not the fragrance you want for making a big statement at a wedding, a funeral, or getting revenge on someone who has scorned you.

Definitely do break it out for reading a good book, it'll be excellent company!

Golden Flowers Rising in the Sun - Spray only, avoid rollerball
Beautiful golden white flowers, rising into sunshine. The gold melts away into delicate jasmine. Then, an undercurrent of rose turns things into a delicate and discreet nosegay scent.

I love how Mugler’s Alien smacks you in the face with jasmine, but I also adore how this is a few blossoms tucked behind your ear.

Note: I would only suggest purchasing the spray versions. I found that the rollerball version had a mechanical issue, and wouldn't dispense scent onto me. The dude at Sephora said that he's found similar issues with all the rollerballs of J'Adore that they've put out, and that the problem seems to be consistently found in rollerballs used for Dior's fragrances.

Old Gin and Leather
First a burst of juniper, then spices, herbs and a cucumber scent. All of that flattens down to a sense of a leather wrap or bag that was used to hold spices for storage.

The leather is predominant after the first ten or so minutes.

I really liked the juniper and herbs, and I wanted less of the leather. My husband liked the leather, and wanted less of the herbs. He said it made him think of old gin, and he wanted to smell like leather. I, on the other hand, wanted to smell like old gin and not like leather!

I think that this fragrance is very successful at doing what it says on the label, it just wasn't to our personal tastes.
