Honeydew on a sea of flowers in the green valley of the spring fairies
Tinkerbell has a new favorite scent: Hummingbird! Created by my favorite fragrance artist Shelley Waddington, who otherwise produces the fabulous, fairytale-like EnVoyage fragrances, this dream of a flower perfume is one of the most commercial from the zoologist series of Victor Wong.
I love it!
At first, a delicate, but only slightly sweet breath rose to my nose, underlined by green, fresh-flowered notes. This develops in the further course of the fragrance in a creamier, green direction, in order to become increasingly flowery-velvetwoody. I can see/smell similarities with Jardins de Bagatelle, the only green Guerlain fragrance I've ever used for a long time, but JdB is less pleasing-cuddly. This makes Hummingbird superior to it.
The delicate nectar and the millions of flowerbuds form a cloud of bliss, which accompanies and inspires me for a long time.
A veritable poem! Very wearable and durable. A mainstreamer among the Zoologist creations, which nevertheless stands out positively from the mass of the flowery fragrances by its delicacy.

Amazing fragrance, but not the most wearable (for me)
Wow, what a fragrance (and bottle!). I haven’t smelled many of the other Zoologist fragrances, but I’ve read countless reviews and seen the notes on the others, but I can make an educated guess and say that Hummingbird is one of the more “safe” options this house has to offer. It’s a complex, SWEET, floral fragrance with lots of fruitiness and honey (the natural, pollen-y type). The opening is a bit polarizing, but it does dry down to a beautiful sweet bouquet with some added woodiness and creaminess. It’s a stunner but in general, it’s not an easy scent and I disagree with the sentiment that this could be a “dumb reach” for someone (especially someone who is newer to niche scents and the artistry of Zoologist.)

To me, this is a daytime + outdoor fragrance and/or a fragrance that needs a lot of room to spread out in order to be fully appreciated. It’s magical in the spring / summer, especially with some wind and sun. It’s not one to overspray as it’s a very potent scent. It’s definitely not everyone’s cup of tea and will smell better or worse on others. I think smells okay on my skin, and it’s not my first choice when I want to wear something fruity and floral (based on what I have in my collection already).

As much as I think this scent is amazing, a full bottle would totally be neglected if I were to keep one, so I’m saving 10 ml for myself to have and treasure, and sell the rest to a more worthy wearer / owner. Definitely one to test ON SKIN first.

Becoming the hummingbird
Very simple, in the sense that it really replicates smelling standing outside and smelling a wild honeysuckle flower still on the branch.

At the same time, it’s quietly complex because it’s truly emulating a natural scent and moment. It’s the smell of deep forest, a fresh bloom, a clear and beautiful spring day, and nothing but nature around you.

You feel like you’re the hummingbird, sticking your beak right into the honeysuckle and drinking deeply.

Sweet fruity floral
Very youthful and pretty, almost saccharine in nature. The fruit is the standout here—I get mostly apple and cherry—followed by fine florals like honeysuckle, rose, and ylang. Gets smoother, soapier, and creamier as it dries down. My wife, typically a floral fan, thought it was a tad too sweet and juvenile for her. Pretty in pink, but not quite our style. Regardless, a very wearable and mass-appealing fragrance.

the flit of tiny wings
opens with a beautifully subdued apple, cherry, and plum, with a prominent rose and honeysuckle base. a smell slightly thinner than honey, yet still syrupy, like the stickiness of the hands after eating an orange. presents a clean, soap like floral, without being overly soapy; clean and sweet. very natural, leafy and light, speaks softly yet with confidence.

colors: peachy orange, pale yellow, light pale red (not pink though).

I get why people say it's too much. It is *so* sweet and sappy and honey-like. It's spring turning into summer, it smells like youth, moving

Strong honeysuckle with fruity notes in the background. I get a lot of cherry and plum from this. You have to like sweet to like this.

To quote Hozier, “You’re too sweet for me.”
Seriously, though, it’s so strong it’s offensive and headache-inducing.

Floral, fruity, sweet, green. Easy to wear, clean, good for spring and summer. It's a light scent leaning to women.

This is such a captivating floral scent and with time drys down into a refined citrus with a fizziness. Bottle Worthy!

Intense garden florals and fruits. Leans very feminine and much more potent and long-lasting than other florals

A syrupy sweet hodgepodge of clashing fruits. What a mess. This one is a hard no.

A garden full of flowers and fruit trees where small birds feed on the nectar to their heart's content. Very hummingbird adjacent.

Every single fruit and every single flower with the volume turned up to 11. Pretty, but very potent.
