Them Neandertal
Them is my first Neanderthal, a combination of carrot seeds and iris, enriched with various floral and citrus facets (grapefruit, lavender, neroli, magnolia). It immediately declares the link with the Earth and its elements: the use of wood and brown algae evoke the imagination of an ancient river delta, where curious men pushed themselves to explore and observe the natural dynamics and then elaborate them into thoughts, cults, languages. A slightly brackish scent permeates the meanders, where fresh and salty waters meet, mixing with sediments, organic matter, floating trunks swollen with water and the scent of the vegetation that abounds on the fertile islets and on the hills behind, in a moment of blooms . But we do not feel the heaviness of the material on us, but rather a “material lightness” carried by the tidal breeze, which collects all the best perfumes and offers them to us, thousands of years later, as a witness, a legacy to be handed down and developed according to the language of the present and the future. It is an environmental perfume, wild, primordial and at the same time elegant and demonstrates that the first characteristic does not necessarily exclude the latter.
At the end the perfume took a leathery turn, blending softly with my skin. Great performances and originality.

Blackbird
Blackbird it is a blackberry-based scent, where the characteristic aroma of the fruit blends beautifully with the resinous notes of typical North American woods (cedar, balsam fir) and musks, without any overwhelming sweetness. It evokes the feeling of relaxation that one feels during the summer heat wave, on the side of some hill facing south, where the sun beats down on your head and burns the vegetation around you, making the plants "exude" characteristic aromas. Some plants dryies out, some other instead luxuriates and gives their best due to the heat. Lie down and close your eyes, sniffing the air, enjoying that breeze, and listening to the songs of some birds, perhaps some dialogue between blackbirds.

Olympic rainforest
This perfume for me is a magical potion, it gives immediate well-being, it is intoxicating and very realistic, offering a "geographical memory" not necessarily experienced. I find it very intense and balsamic, at the first sniff it hits you so much that your nostrils burn, like when you smell essential oils. I find it very "botanical", I feel different shades that probably belong to the different plant notes of which the perfume is composed ... ferns, balsamic fir, rhododendron, cedar leaves, blueberry, just to name a few (this time I didn't feel the need to distinguish them, as when I walk in the woods and simply enjoy the visual and olfactory panorama). And then there are the notes of mushroom, oak moss: the first scared me a little about wearability, but it turned out to be perfectly dosed, the scent is "full" and without out-of-tune notes.

Twin peaks :)
It opens with an almost intoxicating smoke that after a few seconds takes on the aromatic connotation of burnt wood, plus a hint of "antique furniture". Time to ask yourself how a burnt smell can be so intriguing, here comes the "living" notes of the woods, those typical of a sawmill, the scent of the the inner parts of the trunk where the sap flows, which for some reasons are laid bare. It also reminds me of the pine resin I had in my garden, when I was a child: my swing was hanging on a branch and the tree was injured, releasing a yellow, opaque and fragrant resin (I always thought it was its tears). Fortunately, the burnt note does not let go, it is only just slightly enveloped by the softer touch of caramel. The latter is dosed with big skill, without the situation falling into a too-sweet tail but remaining finely balanced.

A research on cedar wood
A cedar forest where bushes, shrubs and remains of trunks colonized by fungi and microorganisms tangle at the foot of the trees: this is the first image that comes to my mind as soon as I spray the perfume. But in a short time the woody and penetrating aroma of the woods and unusual elements such as henna, is mitigated and then adorned with floral and green facets, even slightly anisic (notes of geranium, rose, basil). Now the image changes and I find myself on the American east coast, in the room of a boarding house on the road, where the doors of an old wooden wardrobe creaking open to reveal clothes that are anything but decrepit, certainly impregnated with the wood that contains them, but also of an overwhelming and stimulating vital, vibrant and carnal scent (ginger, castoreum, musk Tonkin). In the finish the patchouli emerges, accompanying its aromatic earthiness with animal notes, honey, generous floral notes.
An example of American indie perfumery that I would recommend to approach for the research on woody notes in particular of cedar (this perfume comes from a long and almost obsessive research on various species of cedars by the author), linked to floral notes in a composition perfectly balanced in its whimsy.
