"Nive(a)lours"
In my search for a leather fragrance, I stumbled upon
White Suede Eau de Parfum purely by chance.
I only recently discovered leather scents for myself. They are usually rich, dense, and often combined with fruit and/or oud.
However, since my nose is (still) not ready for oud, I started looking for a fragrance that can be worn well year-round and contains neither oud nor leans towards the heavy-oriental direction.
Not so easy.
White Suede Eau de Parfum suddenly appeared on my screen, along with a very accommodating offer from a very friendly Parfumo. (Thanks again to D.)
I was unfamiliar with this scent, nor had I ever experienced a Tom Ford fragrance before, so I was facing my first blind buy.
To me, the scent is soft, creamy, and initially somewhat fresh, reminiscent of a very popular cream in a dark blue jar.
Bright, friendly, and well-groomed with a hint of rose and lily of the valley, giving it a slightly herbal touch without becoming too floral.
This part fades away fairly quickly for me, but in return, a soft and wonderful leather emerges that does not dominate the entire scent but resonates alongside the other notes with good presence and, supported by a tiny saffron note, remains throughout the entire progression.
Overall, a harmonious fragrance that could appeal to the taste of many fragrance enthusiasts, and in my opinion, it is long-lasting on the skin.
It radiates pleasantly wide, neither intrusive nor annoying, nor too faint.
I think my first blind buy has been a complete success, as
White Suede Eau de Parfum will stay with me and surely continue to delight me for a long time.

I'm a little bit annoyed.....
....because I spent a long, long time (weeks) deciding which of the Delinas I would choose for myself and ended up at the checkout with
Delina Eau de Parfum.
A fresh, slightly tangy, fruity scent for spring and summer, I had only heard good things about this creation, which ends in a spicy vanilla-amber base yet does not lose its "cheeky-happy" character.
Satisfied with my haul, I drove home blissfully.
BUT THEN ... dear people, my mini-me stands in front of me with a beaming smile and a pink little box in hand.
She had bought
Elixir Floral at the drugstore, and for a small price! Mind you, a tiny fraction of my highlight this month!
Once home, the packaging of
Elixir Floral was immediately ripped open and sprayed. Nose in the air. Then again on the skin.
WHAT THE H....!?
Me with my nose on her arm, then back to my arm.
(My disbelief and jerky head movements, as if I were watching a tennis match, must have been quite amusing, because the little one was laughing so hard that tears were running down her face)
And me?
"This can't be true!?"
Really a very well-made performance by Câline, which comes close to the original model.
The opening is not quite as heavy and I would say a tad more musky. The development is somewhat more transparent yet still fruity and fresh. Overall, definitely worth a test (even if you only perceive the scent for about 4-5 hours, who cares? At that price?) for all those who love
Delina Eau de Parfum and are not willing to pay for the OG,
Elixir Floral is a great alternative.

At Home....
With these two little words, everything about the scent is actually said.
A bit too little, right?
Yet these two words together carry so much meaning.
At home is where one can feel comfortable and be "real," where the soul can unwind and the burdens of everyday life fall away, where there are no immediate demands to meet, where one can take a deep breath, and feel secure in the love of the people there.
This is exactly how
Dans Paris smells to me.
A fragrance that one loves to wear again and again with its absolutely masterful balance between the spicy notes of coriander and bay leaf, and a bright, slightly herbal vanilla that feels almost whipped.
Lightened up by bergamot and musk, it is neither too heavy nor cloying, yet still deep and pure.
Dans Paris is a true embrace of aromas.
There is nothing, absolutely nothing oppressive or demanding about this scent.
It radiates a sense of security and calm for me and allows me to experience the feeling of "home" with every wear.

Summer Can Come
Simone Andreoli has done it again, creating a fragrance that is a pleasure to wear.
This time it has become a "summer scent," but honestly, I could wear it almost all year round.
Unlike many other fragrances from the brand, this one starts off light, cheerful, and bright with a wonderful combination of fruit, Tiaré (which doesn't overpower everything), and green notes.
These are further enhanced by a light touch of mint and salt (which, in my opinion, does not have the dreaded "sweaty" undertone) and eventually settles into a super pleasant base of woods, fruits, and a hint of herbal tea.
All in all, a well-crafted fragrance that I wouldn't label as a "freshie" and is definitely worth a try.
I find myself enjoying it more with each wear and look forward to the upcoming summer with

From Meeh to Yeah!
I have never experienced a fragrance that I perceive in such different extremes.
I got to know
For Her Eau de Toilette and the assessment of the scent direction from "creamy" to "powdery" immediately appealed to me.
Since it was praised so highly everywhere, I went straight to my trusted perfumery and bought the fragrance (it was on sale).
Once home, I first sprayed the fragrance on paper.
The first impression: Uuuuääää what is that?
Somehow musty, piercing, scratchy, and exhausting. Could that be? Was the fragrance not right? Or was I at the beginning of a cold? I had no idea which of the notes were responsible for this, but somehow I was quite sure... we were not going to be friends at all.
Nevertheless, a few days later, I made another attempt (pretty sure I wasn't getting sick) and sprayed it on my left wrist.
(Sleeves of the blouse NOT rolled up)
But again the same impression and disappointed.
In the evening, just before the bathtub was practically calling my name and I had put my clothes in the laundry, I stood in the bathroom and noticed a very pleasant scent.
Powdery, slightly sweet, and somehow fluffy.
Then it became clear to me.
The scent that I found "piercing and disturbing" was on my clothes and "overpowered" the actual scent development.
But the heart of the fragrance and thus the "powdery-soft" facet of
For Her Eau de Toilette I only perceived on my skin.
There, but only on the skin, I really like the musk classic and now wear it in every season.
In hindsight, I am incredibly glad to have given
For Her Eau de Toilette another chance, and I advise everyone not to judge the fragrance too quickly and to try not spraying it on clothes. It apparently needs a certain warmth and time to show its true potential.
