Manageable
I'm an old-school wet shaver and always on the lookout for new, but also old aftershave waters. Of course, you also stumble across the house brands in the drugstores, which offer very decent performance for a small price in many areas.
I like to use various Isana products from the drugstore with the little horse. In the shaving area, I first tested the Isana Aftershave Balsam sensitive, extremely cheap to buy, very good in terms of care properties and more or less the only balm I use.
My test of Dark Ocean was less satisfactory. The price is ok, but the application is less convincing for me. The smell is not necessarily what I am looking for, I find it a little musty and not at all refreshing. The silage and durability are also rather thin. I can't see any care properties, it's one of the usual alcohol bombers.
Conclusion: Can be used, possibly an option for beginners, but you shouldn't expect too much. I take the bottle with me when I travel, so if it gets dropped or forgotten I can live with it.
Alternatives: In terms of price, you can take a look at Wilkinson or Cuba. A real price-performance tip for me would be the Hattric aftershave, 200 ml, which is a lot of fun and hardly any more expensive.

Polish freshness
Only two users here in this forum publicly own this aftershave, there is no review or statement about it, not even a rating. This product really doesn't deserve that, so I'm stepping into the breach and giving the aftershave a little more attention and love.
Olfactorily, you can read all about it in the short review of Byravit's Eau de Cologne. The fragrance is citrusy, spicy and a little woody, making it very fresh overall and - as an aftershave, it is ultimately a functional fragrance - refreshing. The degree of aggression after shaving is about medium: there are milder, but also much more aggressive aftershaves. It forgives minor shaving accidents, but also reveals the weaknesses of the last shave, if any. The bottle is simple, classic and also allows a slightly larger amount to be applied if desired.
The longevity and silage are not bad at all for an AS, I use a lot of it. As the fragrance is very similar to the EdC, except for the concentration of course, it can be used very well with its big brother.
So my routine is as follows:
1.) After shaving the AS
2.) As an AS balm, I use the inexpensive and odorless Penaten oil (500 ml bottle)
3.) After some time, I use the EdC from Lider as an olfactory and dermatological revitalization
After about 2 - 3 hours, enough time has passed to devote yourself to the perfume of the day or evening.
Conclusion: A good, refreshing aftershave, cheap to obtain, sufficiently good silage and durability, unfortunately probably totally undervalued. Just give it a try.
PS: For the wet shavers among us, here's a tip: there's also a nice shaving cream from Lider.

The unknown mildness
Anyone who has read my few previous reviews knows that I am very old-school and retro-oriented and come from the wet shaving community. I have only recently become interested in EdTs and EdPs and pure indulgence fragrances. My olfactory organ and the relevant brain regions are therefore unable to produce elaborate olfactory and forensically valid fragrance analyses.
However, as there is nothing at all about this aftershave and only 4 owners have registered, I would like to devote at least a little attention and love to this product. However, this AS really doesn't deserve to be hushed up.
How did I come to this? Well, I was actually looking for the original Stetson AS
https://www.parfumo.de/Parfums/Stetson/stetson-original-2021-after-shave . But this is very difficult to get in Germany or at dream prices. Flying to the USA doesn't make the situation any better. However, I came across this flanker in the e-bay at a reasonable price and went for it.
What do you get here? The Stetson Cooling Moisture (aftershave) is actually rather old-school and seems to have been formulated a long time ago. It is mild and pleasant on the skin. Mild here refers to the intensity of the scent and the nourishing, soothing skin function after shaving. Let's not forget that this is a "functional fragrance". And in my opinion, it fulfills this function well and satisfactorily.
When applied after shaving, it exudes a pleasantly mild, soothing fragrance. It is also kind and gentle on damaged post-shave skin. Even if I have made a small bleeding scratch in the skin, it is understanding and does not punish me with stinging reproaches like some other shaving lotions. The Stetson Cooling Moisture remains a gentleman and refrains from stinging educational measures.
Who is the target group? Anyone looking for a calm, serene companion in life after shaving is in the right place here. It is pleasant to use. Its fragrance is pleasant, with the usual silage and durability of an aftershave. You can enjoy the scent on your skin for about two hours, but then you can also reach for your other fragrance. The Stetson Cooling Water readily gives way.
Do you have to have it? It is not a product that must be purchased. There are other AS that are in a similar performance class and may be cheaper to buy. However, if you would like to upgrade your AS collection, you will find a loyal, reliable companion here.

Simple and good
I like to use simple, good, proven and flawless things. In real life, but also for shaving and fragrances. I'm certainly oldschool and perhaps a little simple-minded in that respect.
I'm currently researching the waters and products from Alpa and have them sent to me from CZ at a reasonable price. I now have a really small but fine collection of these iconic bottles on my shelf.
In the last few days, I've been using this Windsor Kolínská Voda (the one with the red stripes, the blue stripes belong to the aftershave) a lot. It's not the only "cologne" from the Czechs.
So what is my verdict on the little water from Velké Meziříčí? It is simple, straightforward in its fragrances and honest. The product refreshes, but does not annoy the wearer or those around them with complicated airs and graces. It has green, mossy or woody notes and exudes a certain lightness. You can apply it quickly in between to freshen up a little, but it also clears the way for a new, more sophisticated fragrance in good time. The price is absolutely attractive and you can enjoy the water in large quantities. If you apply a generous amount straight away, the durability is even reasonably convincing. If you want to smell it for longer, simply apply more. That's it! And there's enough money left over to invest in a large bottle of Alpa rubbing alcohol.

Friendly aftershave
As an old and convinced Tabac product user, I always find it a bit difficult to try other aftershaves - after all, you don't want to cheat. ;-)
If you buy this AS in CZ or online in CZ, you will first be rewarded with a very attractive, friendly price. The good piece is currently (December 2024) available online for approx. 2.90 euros.
What do you get for it? Well, basically a concentrated load of Alpa, as you know and love it. In this case, however, it's not a Windsor fragrance like the "normal" Windsor Voda po Holeni . The bottle and the appearance is like almost all Alpa juices, the recognition value is high.
Why friendly? In contrast to the AS also mentioned, which is strong and long-lasting, this product is very mild and is kind and considerate to the battered shaving skin. It doesn't sting as much and the smell is much milder. Unfortunately, the shelf life is correspondingly shorter. It evaporates relatively quickly, but allows you to quickly use another EdT or EdP.
All in all, it's the friendly, mild fragrance I mentioned for those of us who want to take it easy after shaving. I like it and I always reach for Windsor Fresh from time to time.
